Council-Wide Bridging

Springtime means bridging time for Girl Scouts moving to a new age level. Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland will be hosting the annual council-wide Heartland Bridging Ceremony at the Keeper of the Plains on Saturday, May 19, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. As in previous years, members of Alumni and Friends are invited to participate in the ceremony! Read on for details.

All ages of Girl Scouts are invited to attend the event beginning at 2:00 to enjoy pre-ceremony games, make a bridging SWAP, try out an adventure zone, and more. At 3:00, Girl Scouts who are completing first, third, fifth, eighth, tenth, and twelfth grades will participate in the bridging ceremony.

The bridging ceremony will begin with Ambassador Girl Scouts bridging to Adult Girl Scouts. The girls will walk from the Mid-America All-Indian Museum across the bridge over the Arkansas River, ending on the North side of the river. Members of Alumni and Friends will greet the Ambassadors as they exit the bridge to welcome them to Adult Girl Scouts. The Ambassadors then greet the Senior Girl Scouts, the Seniors greet the Cadettes, and so on until the Daisies have crossed the bridge.

A&F members will meet at 2:30 on the North side of the bridge, to be in place when the bridging ceremony begins at 3:00. Please contact Coleen Dyson by email at [email protected] if you are interested in helping with this year's ceremony.
