Just 30 seconds of our WSO Community Choir sounding truly angelic ✨😇

While this group of Ohio Valley-based singers has now performed with the WSO for four different performances (plus one appearance with the WSYO), this Friday will be their VERY FIRST solo concert!

Join us this Friday, May 29, at Vance Presbyterian Church at 7 pm to hear our Community Choir in all their glory. Directed by Joyce Jingle, the choir will be accompanied by Debbie Breiding and a string ensemble made up of local string teachers.

The concert is free to attend, with donations accepted. We hope to see you there!

Since their debut at our 95th Anniversary Celebration last May, our WSO Community Choir has been an outstanding addition to our WSO family. 💙💚

In just over a year, they have performed at Symphony on Ice and Music Under the Stars, as well as with the Wheeling Symphony Youth Orchestra and at our flood relief concert last summer. We are thrilled to see how this relationship grows, and let's just say we have some big things in store for next season. 😉

But now is the chance to see them take center stage! The very first Wheeling Symphony Community Choir Concert will take place next Friday, May 29, at 7 pm at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church. Accompanied by Debbie Breiding as well as local string teachers, the program will showcase these talented vocalists and the hard work they have put into the ensemble these past few months.

Admission is free. We hope to see you there!

Have you ever seen a Town Hall Cadenza?

Up until last week, neither had we.

Daniel Bernard Roumain’s new work, titled “America, to US,” genuinely puts ~us~ at the forefront, allowing 8 of our very own community members to take the stage and share their thoughts about our home. Representing a wide range of ages, careers, and experiences, the result was a musical snapshot of our beloved community. Backed by the WSO with soloist Tracy Silverman responding, each participant brought such heart and care to their remarks.

Thank you to Marley Hicks, Ella Paras, Carrie Leib, Chase Burdick, Stephen Weiss, Vincent DeGeorge, Susanne Williams, and Peter Jessen for participating in the Town Hall Cadenza. Thank you to DBR for writing a piece that showcases our town, and thank you to Tracy for your collaborative spirit. We won’t forget this experience anytime soon!

What an end to our 2025-2026 season!

Thanks to all who joined us for Take Me Home on Friday night. From Tracy Silverman's masterful performance of DBR's new work, "From America, to US," to Dvorak's Symphony no. 9, the WSYO side-by-side performance to awarding the Spirit of the WSO Award to Dr. Gail Looney, it was a celebration of community and musical excellence, two hallmarks of the WSO's mission.

And with that, our 96th season comes to a close! We are hard at work planning #97, but until then, we are Your Community, in Concert. 🩵💚

See you in July. 😎🇺🇸
