🌟 Spotlight Artist: “General” Keith Patterson
General Patterson first took the stage at 14, performing ZZ Top’s “La Grange” at a high school assembly, and he has been playing ever since. Influenced by Nashville jazz great Roland Gresham and inspired by Carlos Santana, Patterson developed a sound rooted in blues, R&B, Southern rock, and fusion.
Growing up outside Nashville in Ridgetop, Tennessee, Patterson spent his early years immersed in music rather than country traditions. He even grew up next door to Willie Nelson before Nelson became a legend. “We just called him Mr. Nelson back then,” Patterson recalls.
After years of college, archaeology work, and odd jobs, Patterson settled in North Louisiana and became a staple of the regional music scene. Over the years, he performed with Rich Girl, KICK, Patty Rambin, Howard Shaft, Monty Russell, and the Josh Madden Band, building a reputation for versatile guitar work steeped in blues and Southern roots music.
General Patterson has released four recordings: Shackville, Daredevil, Native American, and Picture of a Man.
Come out, welcome the General, and help us keep the blues alive here in Northeast Louisiana.
See y’all Thursday night!
