Idols Aside Ministries exists to introduce fatherless youth to Christ through the avenues God has called us to use and to inspire the body of Christ to rise up and do the same! Idols Aside Ministries is a 501(c)(3) ministry that focuses on providing spiritual guidance, emotional support, and mentoring to fatherless and struggling youth. Our mission is to establish Christ centered sports camps, out

door retreats, and a unique mentorship program to build strong, stable, ongoing relationships. These camps and retreats give these athletes an opportunity to make positive Christ-centered changes in the lives of at-risk youth. Idols Aside also provides on-going discipleship and accountability for the athletes who partner with our ministry. Idols Asides’ main programs:

*Community Outreach & Feeding Program - a feeding program for those in the communities where IAM teams are based. This time of fellowship has been a powerful way to establish relationships in the community and share the good news of Jesus Christ.

*Sons Without Fathers - a program that offers outdoor and hunting retreats for at-risk and fatherless youth. These retreats are held at the Idols Aside Lodge and provide a powerful way to share the love of a Heavenly Father who longs to know and have a relationship with them.

We are blessed and honored to add another staff to the Kentucky team, lets welcome Billy Kennedy! Check out his testimony below and be praying for Billy as he serves the fatherless and their families in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois.

Billy Kennedy a native to Western Ky, answered God’s call to ministry at the age of sixteen. Although he sensed God’s direction early in life, he fully surrendered to that calling at the age of twenty and has been committed to serving Christ ever since. In 2006, Billy was licensed and ordained into the gospel ministry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Since that time, he has served in full-time ministry, faithfully proclaiming the truth of God’s Word, making disciples, and encouraging believers to live lives fully devoted to Jesus Christ. He strives to model his life and ministry after Christ’s command in Matthew 28:16–20, faithfully sharing the gospel and equipping others to grow in their walk with the Lord.

Billy has been married to his wife, Erin, since December 2003. Together they have been blessed with two wonderful children. Their oldest, Tatum, attends Murray State University, where she is pursuing a degree in Studio Arts with a minor in Professional Writing. Josie, their youngest is full of joy and energy, loves to dance, and has a genuine heart of worship.

Outside of ministry, Billy has a deep appreciation for God’s creation and the outdoors. His love for hunting began under the mentorship of his high school football coach, who not only taught him how to hunt, process, and prepare wild game but also invested in him spiritually. Through that relationship, Billy learned valuable life lessons, gained a deeper understanding of God’s Word, and witnessed what it means to live as a godly man.

Today, Billy’s desire is to glorify God by faithfully preaching and teaching His Word, encouraging men and families to walk in biblical truth, and equipping believers to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Whether in the church, outdoors, or in everyday life, his prayer is that everything he does points others to Christ and brings honor to the Lord.

Still reminiscing about camp just over a week ago and it has us like 😁FL and Ky combined to bring 46 IAM youth to the WILDs in Brevard NC! 40 had never been out of state and zero had never been to camp period!

“Greatest week of my life!”
“We HAVE to come back next year!”
“All my questions about GOD were answered.”
“I finally surrendered my life to Christ!”
“God convicted about Unforgiveness and how it was holding me back.”
