Our founding fathers knew the importance of faith. They understood that for a nation to prosper its people must possess a reverence for God and recognize their dependence on Him.

George Washington’s Prayer For His Country

“Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord and confusion; from pride and arrogancy and from every evil way. Defend our liberties and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought out of many kindreds and tongues. Endure with the spirit of wisdom those whom in Thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there be peace and justice at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth. Amen.”

Chief Tusquahoma Chapter joined DAR chapters across our nation to complete a service project for DAR Day of Service. This year our chapter focused on Historic Preservation, one of three key pillars of our national society’s mission: Historic Preservation - Education - Patriotism.🇺🇸

In honor of this annual service day event, chapter members cleaned gravestones at St. Paschal’s Cemetery in West Monroe.🇺🇸

DAR Day of Service is in conjunction with the anniversary of the founding of the Daughters of the American Revolution, October 11, 1890. 🇺🇸

On September 17th we also celebrate Citizenship Day! 🇺🇸

Chief Tusquahoma Chapter hosted a special guest speaker at our September meeting, Ms Carla Knox. Ms Knox shared her American Story of immigration to the United States from Venezuela, gaining American citizenship in 2016. 🇺🇸

It is so important that these inspiring American stories of faith, courage, and determination continue to be shared. May we never take our precious American citizenship for granted!

Thank you, Ms. Knox!!! 🇺🇸

It’s a great day, everyday, to celebrate America and patriotism! 🇺🇸🎄

Here’s a Christmas in July post for you!🎄🇺🇸

Our July 4 drone show has been ✨rescheduled✨ for Saturday, December 5 at 6 PM as part of Christmas on the River Festival and Kiwanis Parade Day! The fireworks show will immediately follow the drone show. 🎉🎅

We’re grateful to our title sponsor Graphic Packaging International for continuing their support of this community show! 💚❤️

Our original July 4 drone show couldn’t happen due to weather, but the show will keep its original patriotic format. This is a perfect tie-in to the 2026 Kiwanis Club Christmas Parade theme, "A Gingerbread Jubilee: 250 Years of Sweet Freedom."

The drone show can be viewed from both Downtown West Monroe and Downtown Monroe. We can’t wait to celebrate the holidays while honoring America's 250th Birthday in the Twin Cities!
