Meet Lemon, a 2-year-old Dachshund mix found wandering as a stray in Kennett Square with her puppy, Acorn, right by her side. Luckily, one of our past adopters spotted them and called us immediately.

When they arrived at Greenmore, they needed a complete reset. Their intake care includes full medical vetting such as spays, vaccinations, wormers, and flea/tick management, along with a safe place to decompress from the stress of the streets.

This $5 Friday, we’re asking our community to help cover Lemon and Acorn's intake and vetting costs. A $5 donation goes straight toward vaccines, parasite prevention, or meals for this sweet duo.

Will you give $5 to help Lemon and Acorn start their next chapter?

Meet Acorn! 💕

Say hello to Acorn, a little bundle of wiggles, energy, and personality! Born July 15, 2026, Acorn is always on the move and ready to see what fun is waiting around the corner.

This girl would thrive in an adventurous, bustling home where there’s always something happening. Other dogs, kids, playtime, activity — Acorn wants to be right in the middle of it all! She has a medium-high energy level and would love a family that enjoys an active lifestyle and can keep up with her playful spirit.

A fenced yard is a must for Acorn so she has a safe place to zoom, wiggle, and burn off some of that puppy energy. She also walks great on leash, making her ready to join her family on adventures beyond the backyard.

And then there are those ears! Acorn has the cutest oversized ears that look like they belong on a dog twice her size — huge ears, tiny face, and an absolutely adorable combination.

If you’re looking for a fun-loving pup who will keep you smiling, keep things interesting, and happily join you for whatever adventure comes next, Acorn might just be your girl!
