Chester County Camp Cadet

Chester County Camp Cadet Chester County Camp Cadet A free program offered to boys & girls age 11- 13.

Camp Cadet of Chester County is a fun and unique, overnight summer camp for kids ages 11-13 who reside in Chester County. “Camp Cadet” was created by the Pennsylvania State Police in 1970, as a way to promote good relations between police and young people. Our program provides kids with an understanding of law enforcement activities, as well as comfort with the professionals who serve their comm

unities. While living in an atmosphere similar to the State Police Academy, emphasis is placed on improving self-discipline, confidence and self-esteem. During this action-packed week, “Cadets” will learn to make good decisions and to respect others. All counselors are Troopers or other specially selected law enforcement professionals working within Chester County.

Can’t thank all the families enough for trusting us with their children for the week. I’m hoping the stories and experiences you have heard since graduation solidify what our purpose for camp is each and every year; to promote good relations between the police and young people, improve self-discipline, gain personal confidence, improve self-esteem,
and emphasize the value of good decision-making.

We are sad it’s over but so proud of to see the amount of growth in our Cadets.

Go out each day knowing you can make a difference, help others always, and never let someone tell you you can’t.

Until next year!

It’s graduation day!!!!

Yesterday the Cadets had a very busy day. They had the opportunity to be on the gun range, where each cadet had one on one instruction from a counselor lead by our Fi****ms Instructor.

They then had a very important block of instruction and hands on practice with CPR and First Aid thanks to several members of the West Grove Fire Company.

That was followed by of course the pool party.

The Chester County Emergency Response Team put on a great show and displayed all of the tools they have available to them during an incident in which they would be activated for.

The evening consisted of one of our favorite presentations, Road Radio, which is a powerful presentation on how your actions can have serious consequences when it comes to distracted and impaired driving.

Lastly and probably one of the most favorite parts of camp, the PSP Helicopter made an appearance.

As photos are uploaded, you will see them in the link attached. See you all soon!

So far today, the kids have gotten to learn about the criminal justice system and observe two mock hearings. A huge thank you to MDJ Scott Massey, for coming out and speaking with our cadets and presiding over our hearings.

This was followed by Camp Olympics where Cadets had the opportunity to compete in one of the following events;

Mile Run
100 meter sprint
Swim
Pushups
Sit-ups

We then ate some lunch and played some kickball and dodgeball.

The team competition was completed and was a great test of unity between squads.

Winners will be announced at graduation.

Dinner is right around the corner and the evening has some great things to come.

Keep checking out the link for the most up to date photographs.

The adventure circuit is always a camp favorite.

Aerial Ropes, low ropes, archery, rock wall, and of course the zip line over the pond.

We ended the day with a swim competition.

We are off and running with day #3 of PT.
