Today, 3 Tammuz (June 18), marks the 32nd anniversary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s passing.

Everything we do here traces back to him — to the belief that every person deserves to be truly seen. Not despite their differences but because of them.

That's the lens he gave us. To look for the good in every person we meet, and build a community around it. Today, we remember the Rebbe by embracing the people, the friendships, and the belonging he asked us to build.

Installment 2/10- Perspectives of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

I strongly recommend a change in the word handicapped and prefer the term “outstanding” or “excellent ones”, for it is their excellence that enables them to transcend whatever physical limitations they may have.

In honor of the Rebbe’s 32nd yahrtzeit this Thursday, June 18 (3
Tammuz), we present the first installment in a series of 10 transformative perspectives that the Rebbe taught and espoused.

Day one of Rubin Family Summer Camp is a wrap, and this is exactly why we do what we do.

Reunions. Everywhere. Buddies and campers finding each other, picking up right where they left off, like no time had passed at all.

That kind of joy? You can't manufacture it. It just happens when the right people are in the right place together. And today, that place was ours. Excited to see the joy that the rest of camp will bring.

Thirty-two years of volunteers showing up, families finding community, artists creating, campers laughing, teens growing into leaders, and moments that remind us what inclusion can look like.

From living room playdates to a community that reaches thousands every year, this is what happens when people believe that every person matters.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the story so far. Here's to the memories we've made, and to all the ones still to come.

In the middle of a painting session, I looked at my canvas and said, “I don’t like this… yet.”

Carlie clocked that and ask her “Are you practicing what you preach?”

They were right!

At Soul Studio, we remind each other that it’s okay not to love your work yet. You can be honest about the messy middle and still keep going.

On the hard days, remember: practice what you preach, take a breath, and give yourself a little more “yet.”

Walk4Friendship 2026 is coming; mark your calendars. 🎈

August 30th. One day. $1.25 million for the thousands we serve and for a growing community that deserves not to wait.

This walk funds job training and employment at Dakota Bakery and Soul Cafe. It supports artists in the Vera and Joseph Dresner Soul Studio. It powers the Fetter Children and Teen Division's weekly programs of life skills, friendship, and joy. It fuels the Dr. Stanley and Lenore Dorfman Community Inclusion Program. It sends campers to Rubin Family Summer Camp. And so much more.

Save the date to walk with us. And in the meantime, register, fundraise, and ask 2–3 people in your circle to donate.

Friendship, acceptance, and meaningful employment shouldn’t be put on hold.

School's out, and what a year it was!! 🎉

Over 4,000 students visited Elkus Village Lessons for Life this school year, filling our village with curiosity, confidence, laughter, and learning.

Every day brought new discoveries, big accomplishments, and moments that reminded us why this place is so special.

"Thank you so much for letting this happen. I hope many more kids can experience the magic in that building!" – Brendan, Walled Lake Elementary

To every student, teacher, aide, school district, volunteer, and supporter who joined us this year: thank you.

We'll see you next school year for even more learning, growth, and fun!
