Thank you Representative Owlett for your support!

On June 10, CASA of Tioga County celebrated a swearing-in ceremony at the Tioga County Courthouse, where the program’s newest volunteers were officially appointed by the Honorable Judge George Wheeler.

These dedicated Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) have completed specialized training and are now serving as advocates for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Congratulations to this first group of volunteers, and thank you to the CASA Advisory Board, community partners, and Program Director Sherri Turner-Shults for helping relaunch this important program in Tioga County. Your commitment will make a lasting difference for local children and families.

🎉 BIG NEWS! Meet our newest heroes! 🌟

CASA of Tioga County is absolutely thrilled to introduce our Spring 2026 Court Appointed Special Advocate class! A huge congratulations to Kylee England, Daren Getty, and Katie Summers, who were officially sworn-in by Judge George Wheeler on June 10th at the Tioga County Courthouse! ⚖️✨

It was an incredible day shared with family, friends, and special guests from Children and Youth Services, Representative Owlett’s office, and Senator Yaw’s office. We wrapped up the celebration with a wonderful reception at the Patterson Trailhead Building to welcome our new advocates and advisory committee members, Kristin Peterson and John Leete! 🤝🏠

We also want to give a special shout-out to CASA Betty Dent! While she couldn’t be there, we honored her hard work over the past year! Betty’s dedication during our leadership transition kept our mission moving forward, and we are so grateful for her hard work. 💙

Thank you to ALL our volunteer advocates for your unwavering commitment to the children in our community. You are making a world of difference! 🌏✨
Ready to join the movement? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ We’re recruiting for our next training! Reach out to Sherri Turner-Shults at [email protected] to start your journey.

CASA of Tioga County: Your Voice Can Change a Child's Story

Great things are happening for CASA of Tioga County! We are thrilled to share that we have new advocates being sworn in and moving through the training process, significantly increasing our capacity to serve youth in Tioga County.

However, the need remains critical. Every child who has experienced abuse or neglect deserves a powerful, stable force in their life—a consistent lifeline to ensure their best interests are heard in the courtroom.

Take the First Step:
We are currently preparing our next training class and looking for compassionate community members to join us. No formal experience is required, as CASA provides all specialized training and continuous mentorship.

CASA volunteers are ordinary people with an extraordinary mission:
Be a consistent, caring presence in a child's life.
Advocate for their best interests in court, appointed by a judge.
Focus on just one child or sibling group at a time to ensure their needs are heard and met.

You can help ensure safe and permanent outcomes for a child. Take the first step and learn more about becoming a CASA volunteer.

LAST CHANCE: Time is running out to give a voice to a child in Tioga County!

Today is the final day of the Raise the Region fundraiser, and this is your opportunity to make a profound impact on the life of a vulnerable child right here in our community.

With over 80 vulnerable youth in Tioga County currently waiting for a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), the need for your support has never been greater. Our CASA volunteers provide consistent, best interest child advocacy when a child needs it most.

Your donation increases the chances of a child in care to find a permanent, loving home!

Every dollar donated today directly funds the recruitment, essential training, and steadfast support our CASA volunteers need to serve these children.
The clock is ticking! Our fundraiser ends tonight at 11:59 PM. Don't let this final moment pass to be a hero for a child.
