Safe Families for Children seeks to keep children safe and families together. Located in 70 cities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Africa.

Our goals are to prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system, and support and stabilize families. Founded in 2003 in Chicago, Illinois; Safe Families for Children has partnered with churches, local community agencies, and volunteer families, as well as government organizations. Safe Families for Children started in the Greater Milwaukee Area in 2011 and serves the Milwaukee, Waukesha and Washington counties of Wisconsin.

We’re still glowing looking through these photos! What an incredible evening celebrating 15 years of Safe Families in Greater Milwaukee!

A HUGE thank you to Colleen Boehm Photography for capturing so many special moments, and to every guest who came to Be the Light. Thank you for showing up, celebrating with us, and loving this mission and the families behind it.

Looking around that room was such a reminder of how many people have been part of this story. We are so grateful for each of you and excited for what God has ahead!

We have posted so much about our Boogie Event and raising funds which are essential for our work. But TODAY, we want to post a video on WHY it all matters. October 8 is DAF Day!

October is domestic violence awareness month. Last year (2025) in Wisconsin 99 people lost their lives to domestic violence. If anyone is experiencing domestic violence or an abusive partner please know you are not alone.
