Safe Families for Children - Greater Milwaukee Area Safe Families for Children seeks to keep children safe and families together. Located in 70 cities in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Africa.

Our goals are to prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system, and support and stabilize families. Founded in 2003 in Chicago, Illinois; Safe Families for Children has partnered with churches, local community agencies, and volunteer families, as well as government organizations. Safe Families for Children started in the Greater Milwaukee Area in 2011 and serves the Milwaukee, Waukesha and Washington counties of Wisconsin.

Ready for an amazing statistic?

In 2023, Safe Families Greater Milwaukee Area provided 146 nights of hosting over the course of an entire year.

In May 2026, we provided 147 nights of hosting in a SINGLE MONTH.

That's more than a statistic. It represents families who were supported, children who were cared for, and volunteers who stepped in when their community needed them.

Our services team is tired, but energized. The pace has been significant, but so has the response from people willing to open their homes, share their time, and walk alongside families. To every volunteer, church partner, donor, and supporter who helped make this possible...THANK YOU.

Jessie has such a heart for parents, children, and volunteers, and she brings so much joy, compassion, and dedication to everything she does. June is Family Preservation Month, a time to recognize the importance of keeping children safe and families together.

At Safe Families for Children, we believe prevention begins with relationships. Through compassionate volunteers, host families, family friends, mentors, churches, and community partners, we come alongside families before isolation becomes an emergency. By offering resources, goal setting, coaching, encouragement, and connection, we help parents navigate challenges while keeping children safely connected to the people who love them most.

Family preservation isn’t the work of one organization, it’s the work of a community. Thank you to every volunteer, supporter, and partner who helps create a network of belonging, hope, and support for families. Thank you to the families we serve for trusting us to be a part of your journey.
