We hope this weekend was filled with wonderful family time to enjoy the beautiful Wisconsin weather! Whether you made it out to a pumpkin farm, took a Fall or Fright hike, or watched a local sports team - there sure are a lot of fun activities to participate in. From Bucks to Badgers, Admirals to Packers, and certainly celebrating the Brewers in the World Series - there’s plenty to be hyped about in Wisconsin!

Here’s one thing to finalize on your Sunday evening to-do list to get prepped for the week ahead: get your youth or volunteer 4-H Enrollment finalized!

We have our third Project Night of the 4-H year on Wednesday filled with so many great sessions for youth. We know our clubs are getting busy with activities and events and some projects are starting to meet or get their calendar of the year out to youth that are enrolled. All youth must be enrolled (and approved - so don’t forget step 2 of enrollment = pay your county dues) to participate in 4-H and we are always seeking volunteers to connect a topic of experiential learning to youth that are interested in learning from caring adults!

If your enrollment is awaiting review that means you have not submitted payment (step 2) & if your volunteer status is not approved and you have finished your background check and 2026-27 training but don’t see your name approved yet, please send me an email! Join 4-H Joining 4-H is a two step process that must be completed annually beginning each September; enrolling online in 4-H Online and paying the annual County enrollment dues. When enrolling, you will be asked which 4-H Club you would like to join. You can find the Club list at our 4-H Clubs page....

We've got a variety of sessions at this week's Project Night - and we want to continue to provide information for some special projects here including our Quilting Project & a Photography Special Project (13 years +) in conjunction with LifeStriders to highlight and offer service (via photography) at this upcoming project night and at upcoming photography sessions.

All project nights are open to all 4-H members age 5-19 and youth do need to be signed up and have an adult chaperone along to participate. Registrations typically close the morning of Project Night but may actually fill prior to that timeline - so get signed up early! Tomorrow is our 1st countywide Project Night of the 2026-2027 4-H year. We are over the moon excited that we have so many 4-H families signed up already and the fantastic sessions are filling up! Please get your APPROVED 4-H member or Cloverbud signed up to attend this fun night of hands on learning! We are thrilled to once again have so many SUPER VOLUNTEERS within the 4-H program that are giving their time and talents to the next generation of 4-H youth. We appreciate all of our volunteers and are giving a shoutout to Rachel, Gayle, Cathy, Sarah, and Bill as well as some Junior Project Leaders who are helping make this project night possible.

Plus we are sending a big high-five to Mike Crivello's Camera and Imaging Center and 4-H alum, Troy to be spending another year with us to teach our youth about photography! ✋ 🍀 📸

Come on out and celebrate the start of the new 4-H year with some hands (and feet) learning as our Muckey 4-H Cloggers group also takes the stage.

As the National 4-H week closes out we would like to recognize that many of our members are already be thinking of or even working on projects they may submit to the Waukesha County Fair next July. The dedication, hard work, planning & preparation our 4-H youth and families show and commit to is a year-long journey of learning! Here is one way for one 4-H'er to showcase their year and share a little about their journey. Please share this with your family, 4-H friend or within your projects or clubs to assure all entries are in by Monday, October 12th.
Which Waukesha County 4-H youth will be the 2027 4-H'er of the Waukesha County Fair? *Any 4-H member who is proud to exhibit at the Fair and represent the hard work of 4-H youth exhibitors may submit an entry.*

🍀 It’s National 4-H Week—and we’re celebrating some of the many youth exhibitors who bring their talents, hard work and dedication to the Waukesha County Fair!

Each July 4-H members are among the many youth who fill our barns and exhibit buildings with projects they’ve spent all year preparing and learning about. From livestock and photography to foods, woodworking, STEM and more, their hard work is a cornerstone to our Fair and a historic tradition in our county.

Last year, we were proud to recognize Julia Richardson as our 2026 4-H’er of the Fair. Now, we’re looking for another 4-H member who is proud to exhibit at the Fair and represent the hard work of our youth exhibitors!

👉 Are you—or do you know—a dedicated Waukesha County 4-H member who exhibits at the Fair?
👉 Do you have a project, Fair experience or 4-H story you’re proud to share?

Here’s how to submit a candidate:
📸 Share a photo of you or your 4-H’er showcasing their 4-H and Waukesha County Fair pride.
✍️ Then, tell us about their involvement! What do they exhibit at the Fair? What have they learned through their projects? What makes them proud to be a Waukesha County Fair exhibitor?

✨ Our 2027 4-H’er of the Fair will:
• Represent the Waukesha County Fair and its youth exhibitors
• Be recognized with a special photo display during the 2027 Fair
• Have opportunities to participate in Fair-related events and activities
• Receive a Fair season pass, exclusive 4-H’er of the Fair t-shirt and a few other fun perks! 🎁

We encourage both boys and girls to participate in this role!

🎉 Our 2027 4-H’er of the Fair will be announced between Tuesday, October 13th and Friday, October 16th!
