Where in the Council was Chad, Chris, Joe, and Rachel? They had the opportunity to visit the NYLT program up at Camp Long Lake yesterday. It was a beautiful day for all the participants and volunteer staff for the beginning of a long week. It was great to see the youth staff so organized and putting on the best program for everyone that they could. The participants started thinking about their goals for the week and it was inspiring to see how much the youth of tomorrow have the desire to learn how to be an effective leader. Thank you to everyone who has a part in putting on this great program year in and year out.

A huge thank you to Board Members Rich Ward and Doug Meinen for teaming up to improve Camp Long Lake for our Scouts! Rich went above and beyond by funding the new fuel shed and building the structure himself. He couldn't have done it without Doug, who generously donated the concrete and the labor for the foundation. We are incredibly grateful to both of you for rolling up your sleeves and making this vital project happen!

Introducing the newest addition to the Potawatomi Area Council team, Joe Wisnowski! Joe will be the serving the Prairie Fox District. Make sure to stop by and meet Joe and welcome him to our Scouting Community here at the Potawatomi Area Council.

"Hello Scouting families, volunteers, and community partners!
I’m Joe, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the new District Executive for the Prairie Fox District of Scouting America.

Working for Scouting America reflects my strongly patriotic values. My career background is in customer service/Sales, and hopefully that will translate to being a useful facilitator of everything Scouting. When not working, I can be found with my family, hiking, practicing my faith, and busily cooking for myself.

It is an honor to join such a passionate and dedicated Scouting community. This Scouting community works every day to help young people grow into leaders of character through adventure, service, and outdoor experiences. I look forward to supporting our units, building strong community relationships, and helping expand the impact of Scouting throughout the district.

Over the coming weeks and months, it’s my privilege to meet our volunteers, leaders, parents, and Scouts at meetings, events, and activities across the district. Together, we can continue creating meaningful experiences that prepare young people for life.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I’m looking forward to this journey with all of you!

Yours in Scouting,

Joe Wisnowski
District Executive, Prairie Fox District"

Where in the Council was Chris, Joe, Kathryn, and Rachel yesterday? They wrapped up Pack 410's last Pack meeting of the School year at La Casa De Esperanza in Waukesha. The Scouts rebuilt and re-tooled their Lego Derby Cars in preparation for an all-out race where they all had the opportunity to race their cars multiple times down our alluminum track. It was a great way to wrap up the School year and get the Scouts excited to invite their friends for when School starts back up in Fall and every new Scout will get a Lego Derby Kit of their own to take home and race endlessly!

Where in the Council were Joe, Chad and Rachel today? They were at the Auto Show at State Fair Park with Scott and Bobby Gibson, Rachel’s daughter Morgan and 2 amazing volunteers from Home Depot where kids got to build LEGO derby cars and race them on a derby track, build wooden race cars from Home Depot, color wooden car ornaments, do activity sheets and learn about what Scouts is all about. What a great day to be we all had.
