A big thank you to Captain Dan Baumann of the Waukesha Police Department for joining us at Waukesha Rotary!

Captain Baumann gave our members an insightful look into the world of intelligence gathering and the important work being done behind the scenes to help keep our community safe. His presentation highlighted the collaboration, vigilance, and dedication required to identify potential threats, support public safety efforts, and protect the residents of Waukesha.

We are grateful for Captain Baumann’s service and for taking the time to share his knowledge and expertise with our club. Thank you to the entire Waukesha Police Department for your commitment to making our community a safer place to live, work, and thrive.

Thank you to Dr. Mindy Waite from Carroll University for joining us at Waukesha Rotary and sharing insights into Carroll's innovative Animal Behavior program.

We enjoyed learning how students combine a strong foundation in science with hands-on experiences through internships, research opportunities, and partnerships with organizations such as the Milwaukee County Zoo, Humane Animal Welfare Society, and Wildlife in Need Center. It was inspiring to hear how this program prepares students to make a meaningful impact in fields ranging from wildlife conservation and animal welfare to research and veterinary sciences.

Thank you, Dr. Waite, for highlighting the many ways Carroll University is helping students turn their passion for animals into rewarding careers that serve both animals and our communities. We appreciate your time and the important work you are doing to educate and inspire the next generation of animal behavior professionals.

We had a special moment at Waukesha Rotary as Lynn Sigfred presented Mayor Shawn Reilly with a custom plaque of the City of Waukesha, beautifully crafted by fellow Rotarian, Pete Bosch.

This meaningful gift was given in honor of Mayor Reilly’s many years of dedicated service to our community. His leadership, commitment, and passion for Waukesha have made a lasting impact, and we are grateful for all he has done.

Thank you, Mayor Reilly, for your service—and thank you to Lynn and Pete for helping us celebrate it in such a thoughtful way.

✨ Rotarian Spotlight: Lynn Sigfred ✨

This week, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Lynn Sigfred, a dedicated Rotarian of 6 years whose passion for both local and international service truly embodies the spirit of Rotary. 💙💛

Lynn first joined Rotary after being invited to a meeting by another member and was immediately drawn to the incredible ways Rotary supports both our local communities and communities around the world.

One of Lynn’s favorite Rotary memories was participating in a Rotary Friendship Exchange to Argentina in December 2025. Alongside nine Rotarians from four local clubs, she explored three unique regions of Argentina while staying with fellow Rotarians in each location. The experience created lasting friendships and unforgettable memories—and she’s especially excited to reunite with those friends when they visit Wisconsin this July!

Lynn is especially passionate about Rotary’s international service projects. She loved being part of the 2024 club-led project to renovate the breastfeeding room at the hospital in Escuintla, Guatemala. Having visited the hospital herself in 2023, it has been incredibly meaningful to see firsthand the lasting impact Wisconsin Rotarians continue to make through projects in Guatemala.

Professionally, Lynn recently retired from a successful career in banking, where she spent many years as a commercial lender. She now works part-time in business development for Central Office Systems, helping business owners discover services that support their success.

Outside of Rotary, Lynn enjoys traveling, volunteering with nonprofits, hiking, kayaking, and boating—a perfect reflection of her adventurous and service-minded spirit.

When asked why others should join Rotary, Lynn shared that Rotary offers so many different ways to get involved—from meaningful international opportunities to raising funds that support local nonprofits. There truly is something for everyone.

Thank you, Lynn, for your leadership, service, and the heart you bring to Rotary! 👏🌍

A heartfelt thank you to Amy Reineking for joining us and sharing the incredible mission behind Eras Senior Network.

We were inspired to learn how Eras is empowering seniors, engaging generations, and making such a meaningful impact across Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. From coordinating thousands of rides to medical appointments and grocery stores each year to reducing social isolation through volunteer support, the work being done truly helps older adults and adults with disabilities maintain their independence and quality of life.

It was especially powerful to hear how volunteers of all ages are mobilized to meet critical community needs through transportation, nutrition, healthcare, education, and companionship. Organizations like Eras Senior Network are a wonderful reminder of what can happen when community, compassion, and service come together.

Thank you again, Amy, for the important work you do and for taking the time to share your passion and insight with our club. We appreciate all that Eras Senior Network does to strengthen our communities and support our seniors.
