What an incredible day at our annual Cops and Kids: Back to School event!

Our officers had the absolute privilege of hitting the aisles with local students to help them gear up for a confident, successful school year ahead. From all the essentials to plenty of laughs and high-fives along the way, this day was all about building connections and supporting our youth.

💙 Supporting Our Community – One Beard at a Time 💙

In 2022, the Waterloo Police Department and Waterloo Police Foundation launched the “No Shave Forever” program — an initiative that lets officers grow facial hair year-round in exchange for a donation to the Waterloo Police Foundation. Each quarter, participating officers nominate a Cedar Valley charity to receive a quarterly donation.

For the first 2nd quarter of 2026, the Special Olympics Iowa was selected as the donation recipient. Today, members of the Waterloo Police Department and the Waterloo Police Foundation proudly presented the donation at the Cop on a Roof event.

The Waterloo Police Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting excellence, strengthening partnerships, and supporting innovative community outreach programs that foster positive relationships between officers and the community.
