Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported and empowered.
At our recent Board of Directors meeting, we had the opportunity to hear from our community partner, Waypoint Services, about the important work they're doing to support survivors of domestic violence throughout the Cedar Valley and beyond.
From emotional support and safety planning to legal advocacy, housing assistance and financial education, Waypoint provides free, confidential services that help individuals and families navigate difficult circumstances and work toward safety, stability and independence.
Through Cedar Valley United Way's community investments, we're proud to support Waypoint's Domestic Violence Victim Services Program, helping ensure survivors in Black Hawk County have access to the resources and support they need.
Thank you to the Waypoint team for joining us and sharing more about your work, the challenges survivors face and the difference these services make in our community.
As we recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we're reminded that every story matters, and everyone deserves the opportunity to write their next chapter in safety and with hope.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. Contact Waypoint's 24-hour Resource & Support Line at 1-800-208-0388 or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233). You can also text START to 88788 for free, confidential support.
