All the summer rain in this next week’s forecast has us thinking about rain gardens! 🌧️🪴

A rain garden is a shallow, bowl shaped garden filled with native plants, shrubs, and grasses that’s designed to capture and absorb storm water. Rain gardens are a fantastic (and beautiful) storm water management tool that can be an effective way to store and utilize water on your property.

Check out the link below to read The Vermont Rain Garden Manual and learn how to build your own rain garden.

Although the river is forecast to remain well below the action stage throughout the week in our area, multiple days of heavy rain is a good reminder to stay alert, check the river gauge regularly, and have a plan in place should flooding become a concern.

While the river is forecast to remain below Action Stage, several days of steady rainfall are a good reminder to stay prepared and stay informed.

Check river levels using the gauge linked in our bio, and make sure you have a plan if flooding becomes a concern in our area 🌧️
