Kid Pan Alley

Kid Pan Alley Kid Pan Alley’s mission is to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster community among children of all ages through the group songwriting process.

We do this through our collaborative songwriting workshops in schools nationwide. During a five-day, in-school residency, two Kid Pan Alley professional songwriters work intensively with up to 225 students writing 8-9 original songs based on the children’s ideas. At the end of the week, the children rehearse and perform their songs for their whole school during an afternoon assembly and again during a free evening concert for families and the community.

Father's Day is just a few days away, and we're celebrating with one of the sweetest songs on our new album, There's a Song in Every Story. 🎶

Written by 1st graders at Orr Elementary, Me and My Dad captures the simple joys of spending time together—from trips to the zoo to sharing a chocolate sundae at the park.

Sometimes the biggest love stories are told in the smallest moments. 💛

Crafted with love by Paul Reisler, Heather Mae, and 1st graders from Orr Elementary, this Kid Pan Alley song is a sweet reminder that the best gift is simply being together.

Some children discover their voice through music for the very first time at Kid Pan Alley. 🎵

A lyric becomes confidence.
A melody becomes belonging.
A song becomes something they carry forever.

If you’d like to help create more of those moments, today is the perfect day to give. Every contribution is matched through Give Local Piedmont. 💛

We're sharing love with this song we wrote with 7th graders at Wakefield Country Day, "I Don't Want to Say Anything About Love.”
"Love is just a feeling, a little whisper in your ear / Love is its own healing, it's the reason we're here."

Share the love now and empower the next 80,000+ kids!

This Christmas, we wanted to share a different kind of holiday song—one written with 3rd graders at Grymes Memorial School, and performed by Natalia Zukerman and the Kid Pan Alley Band. It’s called On Christmas Eve, and it’s all about kindness, giving, and what really matters this time of year.

Instead of one more round of “Frosty the Snowman,” come warm up by the fire with a song that sees Christmas through the eyes of children.

If this song touches your heart, help us keep songs like this coming by supporting our work in schools. As the children wrote, “We know it’s better to give than receive, that’s what we believe, on Christmas Eve.”

Johnny wanted a video game, and Suzie wanted her very own plane, Sally a Barbie doll and Tommy a fishing rod. But the 2nd grade at James River Day School wrote a song to Santa saying they wanted: “My family to be happy, to gather round to sing, Peace on Earth Good Will to Men, and comfort for my friends. That is what I want for Christmas."

What we want for Christmas is your help to continue writing songs with the children as we have for the last 25 years.

Your donations will be matched. www.KidPanAlley.org/donate

Here’s a Christmas song we wrote with 2nd graders called “It Doesn’t Cost Anything But Love.” It features Lea Morris on vocals.
You might think to yourself, “what do 2nd graders know about writing songs about love and Christmas?”

Well, as it turns out, they know an awful lot. In fact, some of our favorite Christmas songs have been written by kids through Kid Pan Alley.

Won't you consider giving the gift of creativity to children across the country?

Donate today and your donation will be matched! www.kidpanalley.org/donate
