TONIGHT: The Sperryville Summer Concert Series wraps up a fantastic season with Rappahannock's own Gold Top County Ramblers, performing OUTDOORS ON THE LAWN at Sperryville River District from 6-8PM at 7 River Lane.

Bring a picnic or grab a bite from local favorites like New Iberia Kitchen, Off the Grid VA Indulgent Scullery, Yukon’s Treats and Copper Fox Distillery - Sperryville.

The opening ceremony for the 2026 Ephemeral Arts Program, sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for Arts and Community (RAAC) in collaboration with the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP) and the Sperryville Community Alliance (SCA) will take place this Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. behind Before & After in Sperryville, VA.

There will be a short social period during which complimentary drinks and light snacks will be available followed by a brief presentation by the artists. Guests are welcome to walk the trail afterward and experience the art installations firsthand. We hope to see you there!

THIS THURSDAY: Madison's Dark Hollow Bluegrass returns to Rappahannock County for a FREE concert on the lawn at Sperryville River District. This show is part of the Sperryville Summer Concert Series presented by RAAC in partnership with Sperryville Community Alliance.

Sperryville Community Alliance and RAAC invite you to join us for this FREE concert and community gathering on the lawn at Sperryville River District across from Copper Fox Antiques. Gates open at 5pm and music plays from 6-8pm. Food and drink will be available from New Iberia Kitchen, Copper Fox Distillery - Sperryville, Fork and Ember by Kendra Wilkerson and Yukon’s Treats .

Due to a family emergency, our previously scheduled August band, Tinsmith, will not be performing. We are pleased to announce that we have invited Dark Hollow Bluegrass to fill the spot.

Based in Madison, VA, Dark Hollow's core lineup features: Paul Fincham (banjo, baritone vocals); Rodney Clatterbuck (mandolin, lead vocals); John Cook (rhythm guitar); Wesley Fincham (lead guitar); Randy Lloyd (electric bass). Growing up in Woodville, band leader Paul Fincham was taught how to play guitar by his neighbors, the legendary John Jackson and John's brother Freddy. The Jackson brothers' music continues to be a major influence on Paul's own music. Special guest and renowned fiddle player Don Herron will perform. Herron played with Bob Dylan for 20 years and has also played with BR5-49. the well-known Nashville-based country band.

Sperryville Community Alliance and RAAC invite you to join us for this FREE concert and community gathering on the lawn at Sperryville River District across from Copper Fox Antiques. Gates open at 5pm and music plays from 6-8pm. Food and drink will be available from New Iberia Kitchen, Yukon’s Treats and Copper Fox Distillery - Sperryville.

Deadline for applications is August 7! 2026 Ephemeral Art Program Call for Artists!

RAAC, RLEP, and SCA are thrilled to bring back the Ephemeral Art Program, a
celebration of art, nature, and place.

This unique opportunity invites artists based in and around Rappahannock County to create temporary works of art in the landscape using only natural or found materials. Think leaves, branches, stones, earth, and other treasures from the environment - no gallery walls, no permanence, just pure creativity grounded in nature.

For the 2026 program, artists will be installing their work along portions of the
Sperryville River Trail. Installations will be on view from early September through the Fall Art Tour weekend in November.

Applications are now open at https://www.raac.org/ephemeral-art-program/ . Application deadline August 7, 2026!

Selected artists will each receive a $300 award.

Let your creativity take root - and disappear.
