50 years in telecom. Just think about that.

When Marty Rubin got into this business in 1976, a “mobile phone” weighed a couple of pounds, a long-distance call was still an event, and the internet as we know it didn’t exist.

Today, we carry the world in our pockets, connect at gigabit speeds, and are building networks to power an innovation-driven future.

Marty has had a front-row seat to one of the greatest technology transformations in history, and helped shape it along the way.

In Stark County, Ohio, Lumos Fiber was forced to cancel a planned fiber network build because of absurd per-foot charges, inspection fees, and survey requirements.

These types of permitting headaches cause hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses in America to go without high-quality fiber broadband Internet.
