Legal Aid's Megan Browder spoke to Mariel Carbone of DC News Now about changes to SNAP going into effect today that could eventually impact more than 10,000 DC residents who face food insecurity.

Starting Monday, changes are coming to how some people can qualify for SNAP benefits.

Walk-in clients can get help from Legal Aid and the DC Resource Bridge during intake hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday!

Legal Aid DC clients testified this week, telling DC Councilmember Brooke Pinto how their attorneys helped them navigate issues with housing, foreclosure, health insurance, and more. If the DC Council doesn't restore Access to Justice funding in the next budget, thousands of people will go without this type of support when they need it. Contact your Councilmembers!

Legal Aid's Vikram Swaruup testified today at a DC Council budget hearing, urging the Council to fully fund the Access to Justice Initiative and protect legal services in the District. If the Council doesn't reverse the mayor's proposed 86% cut, thousands of residents will have to go without the help of a lawyer when they need it most.
