Ribbon cutting on a new hub for legal help in Anacostia! ✂️ Located at 1911 MLK Ave. SE, the new offices of Legal Aid DC and the DC Resource Bridge make it easier than ever for residents East of the River to get free help from a lawyer when they need it.

With gratitude to the DC Bar Foundation team for making it possible and to Attorney General Brian Schwalb and Councilmember Robert White At Large for celebrating with us!

Legal Aid's Vikram Swaruup testified today at a DC Council budget hearing, urging the Council to fully fund the Access to Justice Initiative and protect legal services in the District. If the Council doesn't reverse the mayor's proposed 86% cut, thousands of residents will have to go without the help of a lawyer when they need it most.
