A new town. A first baseball season. And a chance to belong. ⚾

After moving to Holly Hill, South Carolina, eight-year-old Eli was excited to begin playing baseball alongside his older brother. However, purchasing equipment and uniforms for both children created an added financial challenge for their family. Through an equipment grant from PIFBS, Eli received essential gear—including baseball practice pants and a brand-new pair of cleats. With the equipment he needed, Eli grew from a quiet, reserved player into a more confident young athlete who developed new skills, formed friendships, and found his place in a new community.

The impact of the right equipment extends far beyond the field—it creates opportunity, confidence, and belonging.

Thank you Diamond Sports for your support! ⚾🥎

Diamond Sports donated 22 pallets (a full truckload!) of catchers gear valued at more than $150k and included 800 sets chest protectors and leg guards and training aids! Out of the 1200 equipment grants PIFBS sends out each year, 100% include protective and aids for catchers. Last year, PIFBS donated nearly 1700 sets of catchers gear. This donation from Diamond makes a huge difference, ensuring that we have the resources to make sure kids have what they need to play ball safely.

Caius worked his way back—one pitch at a time. ⚾

After undergoing knee surgery, 12-year-old Caius was unable to pitch or catch at full strength and wondered whether he would regain his confidence on the field. Through equipment support from the Cincinnati Reds, Rosie Reds, and the Kid Glove Equipment Grant, Cincy Velocity Baseball Association received a nine-square pitching target, new baseballs, and a team equipment bag. The pitching target allowed Caius to rebuild his accuracy and arm strength at his own pace, while the new baseballs gave him the extra practice reps he needed. His determination paid off: Caius returned ready to contribute as his team won a championship and earned a state ranking through USSSA.

The right equipment helped Caius rediscover his confidence, his role on the team, and his joy in playing.

From Research to Real-World Impact! ⚾🥎

When fifth grader Ewan set out to complete his International Baccalaureate (IB) project, he didn’t just stop at researching “The Evolution of Baseball”—he decided to step up to the plate and help shape its future, too!

For the action component of his project, Ewan took the mic and visited classrooms throughout his school to share his mission and inspire his peers. Thanks to his leadership and hard work, he collected a lot of gently used gear that will soon be in the hands of kids who need it most! ⚾🥎

One glove helped Maya turn determination into confidence. 🥎

When Maya joined the Chavez Softball program in San Fernando, California, her passion was impossible to miss—she arrived early, stayed late, and kept working. But her old glove had lost its shape and padding, making hard-hit ground balls difficult to secure and affecting her confidence. Through PIFBS, Maya received a new, high-quality softball glove that fit properly and gave her the support she needed. With reliable equipment in her hands, she attacked tougher plays, became one of her team’s most dependable infielders, and earned a starting position.
