Congratulations to Bryn who has completed all requirements to graduate from CLC’s Education Program this year. Bryn has chosen to postpone her graduation ceremony until next year so she can celebrate and walk alongside her friends who will be graduating at that time. In the meantime, Bryn will be joining CLC’s Adult Life Skills Program in the fall. We are so proud of Bryn! She has developed a so many valuable skills and continues to carry them into the community. She volunteers weekly with Caring For Friends and Good Stuff Thrift Store, two local organizations that benefit from her time and talents.

At Caring For Friends, Bryn helps package snack bags and organize food donations for individuals and families in need. At Good Stuff Thrift Store, she assists with sorting donations, organizing shelves, and keeping the store tidy and well organized.

Bryn learned strategies to remain on task, manage her time, and work independently. The structure and support she receives at CLC help build the foundation she now carries into real-world settings. Whether she’s packing snack bags or organizing clothes, Bryn stays focused, completes her work with care, and takes pride in doing her best. These volunteer experiences continue to support her growth while allowing her to give back in meaningful ways.

Matthew has made wonderful progress this year in strengthening his communication skills. Through consistent practice, he is now speaking in fuller, clearer sentences that are easier for both staff and peers to understand. One of Matthew’s greatest accomplishments has been learning to slow his speech, which has further improved his overall clarity.

A recent success occurred when Matthew clearly said, “Excuse me” to another learner, who immediately understood him and moved aside so he could access the closet. Moments like these demonstrate how his hard work is helping him communicate more effectively in everyday situations and build confidence in his interactions with others.

Matthew has worked on practicing his articulation skills with a variety of instructors, targeting specific sounds and improving the clarity of his speech in both structured practice and everyday conversations. Practicing with different communication partners has also helped him generalize these skills across settings. With consistent practice and support, his communication has become clearer, and he is learning to slow his speaking pace to improve understanding.

Motivated by his token board and eager to continue improving, Matthew approaches each opportunity to practice with determination and enthusiasm. We are so proud of the progress he has made and look forward to seeing his communication skills continue to grow!

Our Adult Life Skills Program learners have been busy in the garden planting tomatoes and peppers as part of a hands-on seasonal project focused on meaningful skills and embracing growth this spring!

Working together in the garden gives learners opportunities to practice teamwork and cooperation, follow multi-step directions, build patience and persistence, and strengthen fine motor coordination through tasks like planting, handling tools, and caring for young plants. It’s meaningful, practical learning that connects daily living skills with something they can see grow over time.

This project was made possible by the generous funds raised through St. Peter’s Nursery School’s Art for Autism event. We are truly grateful for this partnership and for helping create enriching experiences for the individuals we serve.

Sunshine, smiles, and a little friendly competition made for an unforgettable Field Day at CLC!

Our learners enjoyed a day filled with games, movement, teamwork, laughter, and plenty of fun alongside their classmates and staff. Events like Field Day are more than just a chance to celebrate the program year, they provide meaningful opportunities to build social skills, practice teamwork, follow directions, take turns, and encourage peers in a fun and engaging setting.

Field Day also helps strengthen friendships, foster a sense of belonging, and create positive shared experiences across our modules. Seeing our learners challenge themselves, support one another, and celebrate their accomplishments throughout the day was incredibly rewarding.

Thank you to our dedicated staff for making this special day possible and helping create memories that will last long after the program year ends.

Ever since discovering behavior analysis through a college internship, Kalli knew she had found a field where she could make a meaningful difference. A Psychology graduate from East Stroudsburg University, she joined CLC as a Trainee in Module C last October and has quickly become a valued member of the team.

For Kalli, the most rewarding part of her role is witnessing learners' growth and celebrating their successes along the way. She enjoys building meaningful connections with learners, getting to know their unique personalities, and collaborating with teammates to find the strategies that help each individual thrive. “There’s never a day when they don’t make me smile,” she shares.

One of the most rewarding parts of Kalli’s experience at CLC has been watching the progress of a learner she began working with during her first few weeks. Looking back and seeing how far they have come highlights the impact of teamwork, problem-solving, and individualized support. Sometimes it takes trial and error to find what works best for each learner, and Kalli appreciates being part of a team that is always willing to share ideas and support one another. She believes it reflects how committed everyone at CLC is to helping learners succeed.

Outside of work, Kalli enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on walks and hikes, traveling, and discovering new coffee and bagel shops. Her favorite travel destination so far is Ireland. At home, she shares her life with two cats, Penny and Pickles. Penny is the diva of the household, while Pickles is the mischievous
troublemaker who is always stealing hair ties—so if Kalli’s hair is in a claw clip, there’s a good chance Pickles is responsible! We’re so glad to have Kalli on the CLC team!

We are so proud of Jack for the amazing job he did running the CLCafé during our Goodies with Guests event!

Jack took orders, collected money, poured coffee, and interacted responsibly and kindly with guests throughout the event. This was a wonderful opportunity for him to practice everyday social and customer service skills while building confidence through hands-on experience.

He worked hard and remained friendly, responsible, and independent the entire time, helping make the café a huge success. We are incredibly proud of all he accomplished and look forward to seeing him continue to shine at future events!
