🐷 What should you do if your pig gets into the dog food, cat food, or another salty food?
Because pigs can be particularly susceptible to salt toxicity, foods with a high salt content should be kept out of reach and limited in their regular diet. If your pig does get into something salty, Susan suggests not letting them gulping a large amount of water all at once, but rather offering water gradually, about 1 cup per hour.

Two more Ross Mill piggies have found their forever home…together! 🐷🐷💕
We’re so excited to share that Maggy and Riri have been adopted! 🎉
Maggy came to Ross Mill Farm after being purchased from an exotic pet store. Her family loved her very much, but like many new pig parents, they weren’t given the education or preparation they needed for what raising a piglet into an adult pig truly entails.
Riri’s story brought her to us a little differently. She originally arrived at Ross Mill Farm for boarding, and when circumstances changed and she was unable to return home, she became part of our care while waiting for what came next. 💗
And now, what comes next for both of these sweet girls is pretty wonderful: a wonderful forever family and a new life together! 🥹
We couldn’t be happier to see Maggy and Riri head home side by side. Here’s to fresh starts, new adventures, and a lifetime of love for these two! 🏡🐽💕

Gertie update! 🐷💕 Recently, Susan brought Gertie from her home where she had been rehabilitating, to the farm to make room for some little piggies coming into her care. For Gertie, that meant a pretty big adjustment! She had gotten used to single-pig life with Susan and having plenty of space all to herself.
At first, she wasn’t quite sure about settling into her pen in the Lodge, but we’re happy to share that Gertie is adjusting beautifully and getting more comfortable with farm life each day! 💗
As happy as we are to have her here, what we’d really love is to see this sweet girl find a forever family of her own. Gertie has been through a lot, and there’s so much love waiting for you behind that sweet face. 🥹

Our sweet Cassie had been struggling with extremely dry, thick skin, that was making it difficult for her to see!
We recently tried an oil-based topical product called MTG, and the results we’ve seen are fantastic! Cassie is more comfortable, able to see, and feeling so much better that we’ve even noticed a change in her mood! ❤️
Regular skin care and grooming is an important part of keeping our piggies comfortable. Our grooming mitts are great for everyday grooming and can also help with applying topical products when needed.

Meet Cillian, Oopsie, Pebbles & Cyrus! 🐷❤️ These four sweet souls came to Ross Mill Farm after Susan rescued them from a horrific barn fire. They went through so much before arriving here, but today, they’re doing beautifully…safe, cared for and showing us more of their sweet personalities every day!
Now, each of these piggies is ready for what comes next: a home and family of their own! 🏡 They’ve already come such a long way. We’d love nothing more than to see their next chapter begin in a place where they can settle in and be loved for the rest of their lives! 🐽❤️
