Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Abby! 💜 A lifelong South Kingstown resident and current URI student pursuing her goal of becoming a therapist. She has been volunteering with the DVRC since July 2026, including supporting our helpline.

Abby was inspired to get involved because of the impact domestic violence has on her local community. She wanted to give back while supporting an underserved population, and she says her favorite part of volunteering is knowing she is making a difference when someone may be at one of the most vulnerable moments in their life.

When she’s not volunteering, Abby enjoys reading, cooking, and following Formula 1! 🏎️📚

DVRC is coming to Block Island! 💜

On Monday, September 14, a DVRC advocate will be available on Block Island to meet with clients and provide support, resources, and advocacy.

If you or someone you know could benefit from speaking with an advocate, call 401-741-4376 to schedule an appointment. The meeting location will be provided once your appointment is scheduled.

You don’t have to navigate your situation alone. 💜

Our monthly FREE Legal Clinic gives individuals the opportunity to meet one-on-one with an attorney from Rhode Island Legal Services for guidance on legal questions related to domestic violence and family safety.

Healing Through Movement: Trauma-Informed Yoga

At DVRC, we know that healing looks different for everyone. Through our partnership with All That Matters yoga + wellness , we are proud to offer a free Trauma-Informed Yoga program that provides survivors with a safe and supportive space for healing, reflection, and self-care.

Led by our dedicated volunteer, Joan, this ongoing program is available to DVRC clients and staff and is designed with safety, choice, and empowerment at its center.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the All That Matters team for supporting survivors and helping us expand healing-centered resources within our community. 💜
