A vibrant Downtown is a symbol of community economic health, local quality of life, pride and identity. The Wakefield Village Association aims to build on the already-strong sense of community in downtown Wakefield, Rhode Island. Residents and visitors enjoy shops, restaurants, local theater, and a bike trail along the Saugatucket River. As an all-volunteer organization, we come together to build

a stronger community for all. A vibrant Downtown is a symbol of the community economic health, local quality of life, pride, and community identity. We do not have the intent or inclination to become politically orientated. We will be involved to voice where we are as business and community group. This voice or stand will be predicated upon the direction of our members, provided the mission and vision is honored.

Well, friends, that’s a wrap on Wakefield RiverFire 2026! 🪵🔥

An enormous THANK YOU to Purple Honey for braving the forecast and delivering an incredible show. Gisella, you basically dared the rain to ruin our good time—and the music won! It was the absolute perfect way to close out the season. 🎶

To Gary Hopp, our emcee and 50/50 raffle dude🎙️🎟️, thank you for working the crowd and shaking down half of Wakefield for raffle tickets. If Gary cornered you in the park, just know your contribution helps keep these community events free and thriving!

And to our friends and neighbors who came out week after week to support local artists, enjoy great food, and celebrate together: thank you. This community spirit is what makes Wakefield so special.

RiverFire 🔥 TONIGHT! It's our final event of the summer, and Purple Honey is bringing the ultimate soundtrack to wrap it up! They’re playing all the songs you know and love and love to sing along to. So lace up your dancing shoes and join us for great music, craft vendors, food trucks, and a beer garden from 5–9! Gary Hopp and Friends kick off the music at 5:30 PM.

Thank you to Gary Hopp & Friends for kicking off the music and to Jabbawaukee for keeping those funky vibes going all night!

It was a beautiful evening to meet up with friends, grab a beer, listen to music, and support local artisans and vendors!

The magic continues in Saugatucket Park next Friday, August 7 with Nick Bosse and the Northern Roots!
