The Ventura Fire Foundation enhances the lives of firefighters and their families.

The Ventura City Firefighters have established this 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in order to enhance local charity and community activism within the Ventura Community. We are also focused on establishing a healthy benevolent fund to be used during times of crisis when one of our members becomes ill or injured in the line of duty.

Today is National First Responders Day.

Ventura firefighters answer about 100,000 calls a year. Car crashes. Medical emergencies. The worst day of someone's life, over and over.

Thank you. And thank you to everyone who stands behind them.

A lot of what the Foundation does never shows up in a photo.
Counseling that keeps a household steady. A community that shows up when things fall apart. That's what your support pays for.

To everyone who served with Ventura Fire and has since retired: you're still part of this.

We want to stay in touch. Stories, gatherings, Foundation news. If you'd like to hear from us, message us or email [email protected] with your current phone, email, and mailing address.

That's it. Just gratitude.

Here's what a gift to the Ventura Fire Foundation does.

It helps firefighter families through a crisis. It keeps the Fire Family Collective going, our online community for firefighter spouses and partners. It funds mental wellness resources for the whole family.

Real programs, right here in Ventura. 100% of every gift goes to the Foundation. Swipe through, then join us. Link in bio. https://www.venturafirefoundation.org/answer-the-call

What firefighters see at work doesn't stay there. It comes home.

On World Mental Health Day, here's where part of your support goes: mental wellness and peer support for Ventura firefighters and their families. Quiet, steady work. It keeps people well.

If that matters to you, you can help. Link in bio. https://www.venturafirefoundation.org/answer-the-call

Meet Peter McKenzie, President of our board and retired Ventura Fire Captain. We asked him why he gives his time to the Foundation.

"Behind every dollar is a family. When the Ventura Fire Foundation was created in 2014, it was built on a simple belief: firefighters should never have to face life's hardest moments alone. That belief continues to guide every decision we make."

Thank you, Peter. Follow along this season to meet the rest of our board.

It's Fire Prevention Week, and this year's national theme is safe charging. Phones, laptops, e-bikes, power tools. A few small habits help a lot.

Charge on a hard surface. Don't cover devices while they charge. Unplug when you're done. Use the charger that came with the device.

Share this with someone who charges an e-bike in the garage.
