Nepal’s animals still need our help, and we are still accepting funds to support their rescue and care: https://support.asiawild.org/page/FUNCQPWMFFH

If you have already donated - THANK YOU!!!

If you cannot afford to donate, please share this post and help us reach more people.

Our partner Sneha's Care is heading back out to flood-affected areas, working with local rescue organizations to provide emergency care, food, medicine, and rescue to animals there.

Your donation will help provide immediate support - feed for goats, sheep, cattle, and buffalo, dry hay / straw, clean drinking water, cat food, dog food, temporary animal shelters, medical supplies like clean syringes, wound-care supplies like gauze, cotton, bandages, antiseptic solutions, and so, so much more.

The time is now, and every second counts.

THANK YOU to those who have already donated. Your support is going to directly help people on the frontline rescue and care for the animals that they can.

If you haven't donated already, we humbly ask that you please consider giving what you can.

Every little bit helps.

❤️

Devastating floods have swept through areas of Nepal, leaving people and animals displaced, injured, hungry and in desperate need of help.

The full impact on animals is still unfolding.
Community dogs are searching for higher ground.
Livestock have been left trapped or displaced.

Injured and frightened animals are waiting for someone to find them.

Sneha's Care , our animal welfare and wildlife partner in Nepal, is working tirelessly on the front lines of this disaster.

Together with local animal-welfare organizations, their team is venturing into devastated communities to find animals who have been stranded, injured, displaced, or left without food and water.

They are providing emergency rescues, veterinary care, food, medicine, and whatever support is needed to help animals survive and find safety again.

As we write this, their team is on the ground, providing veterinary care and emergency relief to local livestock and wildlife affected by the floods.

The work is only beginning and every minute matters.

Nepal’s animals need us.

$35 — Emergency food and clean water
$50 — Animal rescue and evacuation
$75 — Essential rescue equipment and supplies
$100 — Emergency veterinary care

Please help us send critical aid to the animals of Nepal.

Your support matters and makes a difference.

Here’s why…

Henry was stranded during a flood. Rescuers made it to him just in time.

Covered in oil, weak, sick, and exhausted, rescuers in Ukraine found Henry alone sitting atop debris in the middle of flood waters.

They immediately took him to a clinic in Odessa where he was treated and gradually brought back to good health.

Despite his ill health, Henry’s tail wagged while in the clinic. His spirit was strong, and he knew the people who picked him up were there to help.

Asia Wild is eternally grateful to have partners like Animals Unbound who works to help organizations on the frontline like those that day in Ukraine who saved Henry.

Without your support, organizations like Animals Unbound and their partners might not exist to help animals in crisis.

Animals just like Henry who, despite being sick and weak, will still wag their tail when hope arrives.

Today, Henry is happy and healthy, and he has a family. He runs, plays, and wags his tail with the best of them.

Without your support, Henry may have never been found.

You can and do make a difference in the lives of animals around the world.

Would you like to hear more stories like Henry’s? 🐕

10% of the Ocean Is Officially Protected

As August draws closer to a close, we want to cover one last Conservation Win.

In 2022, governments around the world made a commitment to conserve 30% of Earth’s land and seas by 2030.

Reaching 10% is a huge accomplishment.

The Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biodiversity (CBD) commitment is one of 23 commitments made under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF).

Effective management and protective practices in the total areas covered is still underway, but the official designation of these protected areas is a big step in the right direction.

In January this year, the UN ‘High Seas’ Treaty came into force, reinforcing the commitments made at CBD with a specific focus on protecting areas in international waters.

As with all conservation efforts, the work is not done.

Comment 🐋 if you heard about the UN ‘High Seas’ Treaty before this post.

Are there other big conservation wins we should know about?? Let us know in the comments!

Heavy Downpours Create Possible Food Delays for Pups.

You Can Help.

It is rainy season for WoofGang Pack. More rain means potential flooding, shelter damage, and delayed food delivery.

Earlier this year we provide funding so WoofGang Pack could repair shelter damages.

Ara, Tito, Fin, Summer, and all the other pups rely on food donations and the out-of-pocket expenses the WoofGang Pack staff give to the dogs every day.

We want to help.
We want your help.

If you have something to spare, every little bit helps WoofGang Pack make what is currently a shelter into more of a home for Ara, Tito, Fin, Summer, and all the other dogs in their care.

Your contribution helps WoofGang Pack provide daily care for the dogs, make ongoing shelter maintenance and repairs, pay for veterinary expenses, and give these dogs a happy life until they can find their forever home.

We are doing something right now to help make that a reality.
And you can too.

Happy World Orangutan Day

Female orangutans only give birth to a new baby orangutan every seven to eight years.

Orangutans are highly intelligent creatures, and wild orangutans have been observed using plants to help alleviate joint and muscle inflammation, just like the locals they live near.

Like many other endangered species, orangutan populations face challenges with poaching, illegal wildlife trade, and habitat loss.

We hope you keep these great apes in your thoughts today.

In June 2016, a Baby Panda Sneezed and Capture Our Hearts

And giant pandas moved from Endangered to Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.

For this week's Conservation Wins, we wanted to talk about one of our favorite, playful, and hilarious animal friends the giant panda! 🐼

This change marked the effort of decades of conservation work and is an achievement worth remembering and celebrating.

There are around 1,800 giant pandas in the wild today.

Giant pandas are considered an "umbrella species."

If you are not already familiar with the term "umbrella species," it is a species that has large conservation needs thereby protecting other species that live around it.

So, the work that goes into protecting giant pandas ends up protecting the flora and fauna that live with and near them.

In 2016, a baby panda took the internet by storm with its sneeze, and perhaps more quietly and in the background, giant pandas were no longer considered Endangered.

The work we do for these animals matters.

Be kind (:
