Thank you to everyone who came out to our Halloween trick-or-treat yesterday! 🧡🎃

I received so many kind words, and if you know me, you know I’m not the best at accepting praise. I never really know what to say! 😂 But yesterday reminded me exactly why I do this.

Our kids deserve opportunities to try new things, experience their community, and do it all at their own pace, without pressure or judgment. And just as importantly, our communities need opportunities to learn how to be more welcoming and inclusive of them.

That’s what this is all about. ❤️

Thank you for showing up, for the kind words, and for being part of it. I hope to see you all at another event soon! 💚

🎃🖤 Our very first Halloween with Sensory Social Club was one for the books!

From joining Lighthouse Autism Center for their Trunk or Treat to hosting our very own sensory-friendly Trick or Treat, we couldn’t have asked for a better first Halloween! 👻🍬

Seeing the smiles, the costumes, and families coming together reminded us exactly why SSC was created. A place where kids can show up exactly as they are, experience things at their own pace, and just be kids. 💚

Halloween can look a little different for every family, and that’s okay! Whether it’s grabbing candy, taking a little extra time, or simply enjoying the experience, every moment deserves to be celebrated.

A HUGE thank you to Lighthouse Autism Center for including us, and to every family who came out and supported our events. You are helping us build something so special right here in our community.

Our first Halloween was a success, and we’re already looking forward to making even more memories together! 🥹💚

To the kids wearing their favorite costume—and the ones wearing their everyday clothes.
To the kids saying “trick or treat,” using AAC, waving, or quietly reaching for candy.
To the families visiting every house, making one quick stop, or celebrating on the couch.

There’s room for all of you. 👻🫶

Autistic kids deserve to enjoy Halloween in whatever way feels good to them. Give them time, skip the expectations, and hand over the candy! 🍬

Halloween can be exciting AND a lot to take in. 🎃💚

A little planning, familiar comforts, and permission to call it a night can make room for a celebration that works for your child.

🎃 One-Stop Trick-or-Treat is almost here! 💚

Join Sensory Social Club for a low-stimulation Halloween stop for autistic kids and their families!

🗓️ Saturday, October 31
⏰ 1–3 PM
📍 444 E 300 N, Valparaiso

We’re keeping things simple: no music or loud activities, just a quick stop to grab some candy and a goodie bag! Take as much or as little candy as your kiddo would like. 🍬

We’ll also have a little photo op if you’d like a Halloween picture! 📸 Costumes are optional, siblings are welcome, and there’s no pressure to say “trick or treat.”

Stop by for a few minutes and head out whenever you’re ready—whatever works best for your family. Parents and caregivers stay with their children. We can’t wait to see you! 👻💚

There are still SO many misconceptions about autism, and honestly, some of them are long overdue to be left behind. 💚

Autism isn’t one-size-fits-all. It doesn’t have a certain look, personality, or set of behaviors that applies to everyone.

Not every autistic person has the same strengths, struggles, support needs, or experiences. And that’s exactly why it’s called a spectrum.

The more we challenge outdated stereotypes, the more room we make for understanding, acceptance, and inclusion.

At Sensory Social Club, we’re big believers in education, advocacy, and creating spaces where neurodivergent individuals can be themselves without judgment.

Less assuming. More listening. More understanding. 💚

🎃 Halloween fun, with a little less overwhelm! 💚

Join Sensory Social Club for One-Stop Trick-or-Treat, created for autistic kids and their families!

🗓️ Saturday, October 31 | 1–3 PM

We’re keeping it simple and low stimulation: no music, no loud activities, and no pressure to say “trick or treat.” Just a quick stop to collect some treats and enjoy Halloween at your child’s pace!

🍬 Take as much or as little candy as you’d like, plus a goodie bag!
📸 Stop at our little photo op if you want a Halloween picture.
👻 Costumes are optional, and siblings are welcome!

Stay for a picture or grab your treats and go—whatever works for your family. 💚

📍 Hosted at a private residence in Valparaiso. Please message SSC to RSVP and receive the address.
