Iowa Best Bagger Contest at the Iowa State Fair, held on Friday, August 14 at the Susan Knapp Amphitheater.

Thank you to all who participated in and supported the 2026 IGEF Scholarship Golf Classic on May 13! It was a beautiful day with clear skies and we had 220+ golfers supporting the Iowa Grocers Education Foundation. This is our largest fundraising effort each year to award scholarships to youth with ties to the grocery industry. Thank you!

The Build with Bags grant program is open for applications!

Part of the Iowa Grocery Industry's larger efforts to decrease plastic in landfills, the Build with Bags grant program offers funding to public parks and schools for the purchase of park furniture and playground equipment made from recycled plastic shopping bags.

♻️ It’s a great way to keep plastic out of our landfills while enhancing our local outdoor spaces! Check out the pic 🔽from 2025 grant recipient Winneshiek County Conservation! They used their grant award to purchase 8 new picnic tables at Lake Meyer Park. Each table is made from about 10,600 recycled plastic bags!!!

The Iowa Grocery Industry Association had its Legislative Breakfast at the Iowa Capitol on Wednesday morning and enjoyed a chance to connect with legislators to share the important work of our industry in the state. Delicious breakfast was provided by Casey’s, Fareway, Hy-Vee, and Kwik Star. Thank you to all who attended — IGIA members, supporters, legislators and their staffers, and many others at the Capitol who enable the important work being done!
