IAFP was pleased to welcome the Executive Board in Des Moines this week for their final board meeting before . Over the course of a day and a half, Board Members, as well as incoming IAFP Secretary Maria Hoffmann and Affiliate Council Secretary Takiyah Ball, met with staff and engaged in productive discussions on a variety of topics, including the Annual Meeting and IAFP Europe 2027.

Public awareness of the risks of raw flour consumption has increased in recent years. Consumers and various organizations have created online resources that offer home-scale solutions claimed to reduce pathogens in raw flour.

1. Thursday, May 28 (1-2 p.m. ET): "Using Data Trends to Improve Microbial Risk Detection in Food Safety Systems" will demonstrate how trend-based analysis of routine monitoring data can help identify early signals of microbial risk before contamination events occur.

2. Friday, May 29 (2-3:30 p.m. ET): "How FSMA Qualified Exempt and Not Covered Produce Growers are Filling Learning Gaps Using Innovative Education Program Delivery Methods" explores this regulatory gap through a complementary approach that integrates the West Virginia University-developed Willing–Ready–Able (WRA) framework with the UNH Extension Jumpstart to Produce Safety Program.
