A study in the September-October issue of Food Protection Trends examined the efficacy of the bacteriophage product Phageguard S against Salmonella on raw turkey products, both in vitro and in an industrial trial.

Findings show the product to be a successful method for reducing Salmonella in raw ground turkey.

Allison Discher is the latest member to join the IAFP staff. Allison takes over as Member and Committee Services Coordinator, serving as IAFP's liaison for 31 PDGs and for JFP, and coordinating the Association's many webinars held throughout the year.

She holds a bachelor's degree in education from Iowa State University and has a background in teaching and in providing operational support in health care and property management.

She looks forward to working with IAFP and its Members, helping support the growth and future of food safety.

IAFP Latino 2026, the Latin American Symposium on Food Safety, was held September 28-29 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The event is organized every two years by scientific associations and societies from different Latin American countries affiliated with IAFP. This year's meeting was organized by IAFP's Affiliate, the Argentine Food Safety Commission (CAIA), with Fabiana Guglielmone, CAIA President and Delegate, serving on the organizing committee.

Representing IAFP were Manpreet Singh, IAFP Past President; Alejandro Mazzotta, IAFP Past President; and Lisa Garcia, IAFP Executive Director.
