Unleash The Paws We believe every pet deserves someone willing to fight for them. Our goal is simple: save lives, heal hearts, and help every pet find a family.

Unleash the Paws rescues pets that have been abandoned, neglected, sick, injured, or out of time. We rescue and rehabilitate animals that have been overlooked and unloved. Our mission is to show them the beauty of life and offer a second chance. Our dream is to open an animal sanctuary where we would accept animals that need help. Meet Clara ❤️

Clara is a 5-month-old spayed puppy who is ready to find a family of her own!

We believe Clara is a German Shepherd/Bloodhound mix, and those giant paws of hers make us think she still has plenty of growing to do! She is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves people, dogs, and cats.

Clara walks well on a leash and is fantastic off leash. One of her favorite things in the entire world is water. Give her a pool, pond, or anything she can splash around in, and she will happily swim and jump in it all day long! She also loves dog parks and enjoys playing with all kinds of dogs.

Clara is housebroken, loves her food, and is a very happy, playful puppy. She came from a difficult situation and appears to have experienced food insecurity, so she tends to eat like every meal might be her last. Because of that, we recommend a slow-feeder bowl to help her slow down and enjoy her meals safely.

Clara is the kind of dog who just wants to be included. She loves being around her people, making new dog friends, playing, swimming, and enjoying all the things a puppy should get to experience.

A few days ago, Shelly, now Vivian Hazel, arrived at her forever home in Washington State.

Her new parents, Jonah and Tyler, adopted Vivian after losing their precious girl, Clara, to cancer. They never even met Vivian in person. They only saw her pictures and videos, but Vivian's smile reminded them so much of their precious Clara, and they knew they wanted to give her a home.

They saved not one soul that day, but two.

Because Vivian was adopted, we had room to pull and tag another pup who needed us the most. Her name was Clarita, and she came to us with that name already. Clarita is the Spanish equivalent of Clara.

It's because of Jonah and Tyler that Vivian and Clara are safe today.

Sometimes things line up in the strangest ways. One adoption made room for another life to be saved. And somehow, the little pup who needed that chance came to us carrying a name so close to Clara.

Thank you, Jonah and Tyler, for choosing Vivian and giving her the home we always hoped she would find. Knowing she is finally home and loved means more than you know.

A few days ago, we were able to pull Clarita, now Clara, from BARC’s urgent list.

We had a puppy adopted, which opened up a spot for us to save her. Clara is a very sweet puppy, and it is pretty clear that she had been struggling to find enough food while living on the streets. The way she eats her food is like she has never had a full meal before. We are giving her all the food she needs and teaching her that she doesn't have to worry about where her next meal is coming from.

Clara was not doing well at the shelter. But once we brought her to our rescue, she became a completely different dog. She has so much energy and just wants to run, play and be a puppy. That energy probably made the shelter environment especially difficult for her.

She is safe now, and she finally gets to be the puppy she should have been all along.

We also want to give a huge thank you to Kane's Pet Transport for bringing Clara halfway from Houston to us. Without you, we would not have been able to tag her and get her out of the shelter.

August was a pretty amazing month for our rescue.
Winnie, Roxy, Juniper, Mo, Maple, Hazel and Gojo all arrived at their forever homes!
We want to say a huge thank you to every person who chooses to adopt from us. Because of you, these pets are alive today. They went from shelter kennels, uncertainty and waiting for someone to notice them to sleeping in their own homes with families who love them.
Every adoption also means we can open a spot for another pet who needs us.
Thank you for choosing adoption and for giving them the forever they were waiting for. We truly couldn’t do this without you.

Mo(jito) is home!

We are so happy to share that Mo(jito) has arrived safely at his forever home.

What makes this extra special is that his family adopted one of our puppies just a few weeks ago. She was previously known as Bacon and is now Marti. And now Mo gets to join her!

We are so thankful they decided to open their home to another one of our rescues. It means so much to see our adopters come back and give another pet the same chance they gave their first.
Mo is one lucky boy, and we know he is going to be very loved.

Hi! I’m Roxy, and I’m 13 weeks old.

I may be a puppy, but I already know exactly what I want in life. A cozy lap, lots of attention, some good food, and a family to call my own!

I was pulled from the euthanasia list at a local shelter, and now I’m making up for lost time. I have doggie friends to play with, people to follow around, toys to investigate, and plenty of puppy business to keep me busy.

I’m definitely the more laid-back girl. I enjoy playing, but I’m just as happy hanging out beside you. Actually… if you sit down, don’t be surprised when I climb right into your lap. I’m pretty sure laps were invented specifically for puppies like me.

I’m still learning all the important puppy things, like where I’m supposed to potty, what I’m allowed to chew, and why my humans keep telling me to leave things alone. But I’m a smart girl, and I love treats, so I think we’re going to figure it all out.

What I really want is a family who will let me be silly, teach me new things, give me lots of love, and let me grow up right by their side.

So if you’re looking for a sweet little cuddle bug who happens to have four paws and a whole lot of puppy in her… maybe I’m your girl!

Meet Shelly!

Shelly is a 13-week-old brindle puppy who is one of the lucky ones. She was pulled from the euthanasia list at a local shelter and is now getting to enjoy being a puppy!

Shelly is a happy, goofy girl with a personality that is impossible not to love. She gives the sweetest, never-ending kisses and loves being around people. She also spends her days playing and hanging out with lots of different doggie friends. She loves them all and is always ready for a game of chase or a good puppy wrestling match.

Like any puppy, Shelly loves her food and is eager to learn. She seems to be very treat motivated, which should make training a lot of fun. She is already crate trained and has been doing great with house training. As long as she is given plenty of opportunities to go outside throughout the day, she has been doing very well with no accidents in the house.

And then there is water! Shelly absolutely loves it. She is not afraid of water at all and will happily jump right in whenever she gets the chance. Whether she is playing with her doggie friends, splashing around, or giving out kisses, Shelly is happiest when she is having fun and being part of the action.

Shelly is looking for a family who will continue her training, give her plenty of playtime and adventures, and most importantly, love her for the goofy, affectionate puppy she is. After everything she has been through, this sweet girl deserves a forever home where she can grow up surrounded by love.

Winnie is still waiting for her chance at a forever home. ❤️

This sweet girl was pulled from the urgent list at Dallas Animal Services, and we are so grateful she got a second chance.

Winnie is 11 months old and possibly a Kelpie mix. She is an incredibly sweet girl who loves people and just wants to be around them. She does great with dogs, cats, and even chickens! She walks well on leash and is wonderful off leash.

And if there’s water around, you can bet Winnie will be right in it! She absolutely loves the water.

Winnie is such a wonderful young girl and we know her forever family is out there. All Winnie needs now is a family of her own to share all that love with.

Please welcome Roxy and Shelly to Unleash the Paws!

These two sweet girls were pulled from the urgent list at Carthage shelter. Both girls are incredibly sweet and seem so grateful to be out of the shelter.

Many of you might remember Gojo. She was on the euthanasia list at Dallas Animal Services, very sick with pneumonia and not doing well. We knew she deserved a chance, so we stepped in and gave her that chance.

Today, we are so happy to share that Gojo has arrived safely at her loving forever home out of Texas!

She absolutely loves the cooler weather and the nice green grass without all the little Texas pickers. Most of all, she loves her new mom and dad, and they spoil her so much.

Seeing Gojo this happy, safe, and so incredibly loved makes our hearts so happy.

We want to thank everyone who was a part of Gojo’s rescue journey and helped give this sweet girl a second chance. And a very special thank you to her adoptive family Corinna LaRoche for taking a chance on her and for giving her a life she always deserved.

Happy life, kiddo! You are finally home. ❤️
