Meet Darla!

She is a sweet, goofy, loving girl who just wants a family to call her own. She’s around 2 years old, dog friendly, cat friendly, house trained, and absolutely loves people. Her favorite things are zoomies, cuddling like a weighted blanket, chasing balls she refuses to bring back, and making new friends everywhere she goes.

Darla has so much love to give and is patiently waiting for someone to finally choose her. Please share her video and help us find her forever home.

Happy National Dog Mom Day to all the amazing women who open their hearts and homes to dogs in need.

To the ones waking up for early potty breaks, cleaning muddy paws, giving medications, sitting through vet visits, fostering the scared ones, adopting the unwanted ones, and loving them through every stage of life, Thank You.

Dog moms change lives every single day.
Especially the dogs who were once abandoned, neglected, or forgotten.

Today we celebrate YOU and the unconditional love you give. Give your pups an extra hug from us today.

As many of you remember, sweet Miss Bacon.

We’re happy to share that she is back with our rescue! Her hospitalization bill came to $1,736.19, and it is still outstanding with the vet.

This is why we are asking for your help. Without available funds, we won’t be able to continue pulling more pups and kitties from harm’s way, whether that’s the streets or euthanasia lists.

If I’m being honest, our rescue has been struggling financially this past year. We’ve taken on many serious medical cases that required hospitalization, and it has caught up with us.

The good news, Bacon is doing amazing. She’s a happy little nugget who loves her food and gives the best kisses.

If you’re able to help in any way, we truly appreciate it. Every bit goes directly to the animals in our care.

Today we went to a petstore with one of our rescue pups so she could get some people exposure and see how she does in public. We also stopped to pick up some open-bag discounted dog food, we try to stretch rescue funds wherever we can.

In the parking lot, we saw a woman sitting in her car trying to bottle feed two tiny kittens. She told us they hadn’t eaten in 2 days. Once we saw their condition, we took them into our rescue.

We called Dr. Embry at Embry Animal Clinic on a Friday evening as they were closing, and he still told us to bring them in without hesitation.

The kittens had open wounds with fly larvae eating away at them. Dr. Embry and his team immediately took over care, cleaned them up, removed everything, and treated the wounds. He didn’t rush even though it was after hours. He took the time to make sure it was done right.

We’re really grateful for Dr. Embry and his team. We bring him a lot of tough, urgent cases and he never turns us away. He and his team show up for these pets when they need it most, and that makes a huge difference for us as a rescue.

We really couldn’t do this without them.

We are heartbroken to share that we lost Onion. Her little body just couldn’t fight any longer. We did everything we could for her, but parvo is so unforgiving. I really hate this disease.

Rest easy, sweet Onion. You were so loved.

Her sister Bacon is currently at Veterinary Medical Center of Athens fighting hard. This sweet 5 lb girl is still holding on, and we are hoping with everything we have that she makes it.

Please keep Bacon in your thoughts. If you would like to help with her medical costs, I will leave donation links in the comments.

Thank you for caring and for standing with these babies when they need it most.

A few days ago, we pulled two tiny puppies, Onion and Bacon, from the euthanasia list after they tested positive for parvo.
Lately, our rescue has been focusing on the ones others pass by…the really sick, the ones with the toughest odds. These are the lives we feel we can’t turn away from.
Right now, both girls are very sick. They’re fighting hard, and we’re doing everything we can to support them; fluids, medications, around-the-clock care, and even trying red light therapy to give them every possible chance.
They’re not out of the woods yet, but they’re not alone in this fight. We’re standing with them every step of the way.
Please keep Onion and Bacon in your thoughts. We’ll keep you updated on their journey.

Adopted!
Quail – 12 Week Old Parvo Survivor Ready for Her Forever Home

Quail is a 12-week-old puppy bursting with energy, curiosity, and personality. She is truly a little survivor, she bravely fought and beat parvo after being placed on the euthanasia list at the shelter due to her diagnosis. Now fully recovered, she’s ready for a fresh start and a family to call her own.

This girl is fearless in the best way. Quail is a confident puppy who isn’t afraid of anything, including larger dogs. She plays happily and respectfully with our big dogs and holds her own with no hesitation.

Quail has also been exposed to cats and chickens and has done wonderfully with both. She especially loves cats, her favorite game is chasing and wrestling with them, always in good fun.

She is an active, playful pup who loves to chase balls (she’s still working on the “bring it back” part). Water doesn’t scare her one bit, she willingly goes in on her own and explores with confidence. When she’s not zooming around the yard or initiating play, she loves to cuddle and soak up affection.

Quail is also at that puppy stage where she thinks grabbing your pant legs is an invitation to play, and she’ll happily chase you around the yard with a big puppy grin.

At night, Quail is already doing great, she sleeps through without accidents. She is still working on potty training during the day, but with patience and consistency she will absolutely get there. She is smart, eager to learn, and very food-motivated, which will make training easier as she grows.

Quail is bold, social, resilient, and full of life, ready for a home that will continue to guide her, play with her, and love her as she grows.

Meet our newest rescue, Shaggy.
He was completely shut down at the shelter and declining fast, to the point he was placed on the euthanasia list.
This is him just 2 hours after being free 💛

🚨 URGENT MEDICAL SPONSOR AND DONATIONS NEEDED 🚨

We just picked up a sweet little puppy who tested positive for parvo. She’s tiny, scared, and fighting for her life, and she desperately needs medical care to give her a chance.

This little one doesn’t have anyone looking out for her, she’s completely reliant on the kindness of people like you. Every dollar helps cover her hospitalization, fluids, medications, and round-the-clock care.

Please consider donating to help her fight this deadly virus and give her a shot at a healthy life.
