Meet our newest board member, Anthony Brown!

My name is Anthony Brown, and I am honored to serve as the Prairie View A&M University Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent for Smith County since June 01, 2020.

As a lifelong resident of Smith County, I grew up just outside of Whitehouse and am proud to return to serve the community that helped shape me. After graduating from Whitehouse High School, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a concentration in Agribusiness and Economics from Prairie View A&M University in December 2019.

Agriculture has always been an important part of my life. I come from a farming family with experience in sustainable crop production and the management of a cow-calf operation. My involvement in agriculture also began at a young age through Lakeside 4-H in Smith County, where I had the opportunity to raise and exhibit a variety of livestock, including goats, sheep, rabbits, roasters, and broilers. These experiences fostered my passion for agriculture and community service.

I am excited to work alongside the producers, landowners, and residents of Smith County. I look forward to building strong relationships throughout the community and providing educational programs and resources that support the success of our agricultural industry and natural resources.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Smith County and look forward to meeting and working with you.

Farmers and ranchers across the great state of Texas are stepping up to make a difference. That includes Smith County Farm Bureau! The county participated in “Farmers Feeding Families” program by purchasing a hog and having it processed and donating the meat to The King’s Storehouse. Malcolm Williams and Clint Perkins can be seen donating the meat to two employees of The King’s Storehouse in the picture below.
