The purpose of the Healthy Start (HS) program is to improve health outcomes before, during, and after pregnancy, and reduce racial/ethnic differences in rates of infant death and adverse perinatal outcomes. d care for at risk families and children (abused and/or neglected & domestic violence), prevention & early intervention services, housing for young adults aging out of the foster care system, mental health & life skill services, advocacy and case management coordination for survivors of human trafficking, medical programs for women who are pregnant or post-partum, and serving families who have a child with a disability or special needs by providing them with an opportunity to visit the world’s first theme park designed with individuals with special needs in mind.

IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATE

Due to current weather conditions and the forecasted potential for additional rain and thunderstorms throughout the morning, the 5th Annual Fishing with Dads event scheduled for today has been postponed.

This decision was made out of an abundance of caution in an effort to ensure the safety of our staff, families, children, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.

We appreciate your understanding and support. A new event date will be announced as soon as possible.

This free family-friendly event is open to the Smith County community and will include fishing, games, food, music, community resources, vendors, giveaways, and activities for all ages.
