Strong communities are built through connection and collaboration.

FCS recently joined Tulsa Parks employees to share how community partnerships strengthen mental health support across Tulsa. Through our work with the City of Tulsa Gov and Tulsa Area United Way, our COPES team provides critical mental health crisis response and connects people with care and resources when they need them most.

We were proud to share the conversation with Tulsa CASA, Inc. and Mental Health Association Oklahoma. Together, we are creating a stronger network of support for our community.

Building a stronger, safer, and healthier community starts right here in Tulsa. 💚📍

We are thrilled to highlight our visit to the new downtown Oasis Fresh Market!
More than just a grocery store, Oasis is on a mission to eliminate food deserts and equip our city for life by providing fresh, affordable, and nutritious food to neighborhoods that need it most.

Founded by Aaron "AJ" Johnson, Oasis Fresh Market operates under the motto "More than groceries, equipping you for life." It was established to directly combat food insecurity and health disparities in historically underserved Tulsa neighborhoods.

Oasis made history as the first full-service grocery store to open in North Tulsa in over 14 years, and the city's first Black-owned grocery store in more than 50 years, carrying forward the legacy of historic Greenwood/Black Wall Street grocers.

Through its partner non-profit, the Oasis Project, the market provides wraparound community services including financial literacy, housing support, healthcare connections, workforce development, and the Double Up Oklahoma program (matching SNAP benefits dollar-for-dollar on fresh produce).

At Tulsa CASA, our mission deeply aligns with the vision of Oasis. Just as Oasis Fresh Market nourishes and uplifts families with essential community resources, our volunteer advocates step up every day to ensure children in the foster care system have a safe, stable home, a voice in court, and the opportunity to thrive.

When local organizations unite to support basic needs, from access to healthy meals to advocacy for our youth, our entire community grows stronger together.
Stop by the new downtown location to support a local business that truly gives back, and consider how you can make a difference for Tulsa’s kids!

Seven more voices for children in Tulsa County. 💙

Our most recent CASA class was officially sworn in this week, marking the beginning of an important journey of advocacy, compassion, and service. These volunteers completed training and are now prepared to stand beside children in foster care, ensuring their needs and best interests remain at the forefront.

Thank you to The Honorable Chief Judge Todd Chesbro for leading the swearing-in ceremony and helping us celebrate this special milestone.

We're excited to see the impact these advocates will have on the lives of children and families throughout Tulsa County.

Board Member Spotlight!

From the classroom to community-wide care: Dr. Denise Dart is rewriting the blueprint for how we treat the whole person.

Denise Dart, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and Director of Medical Integration and Psychology Services at Family & Children’s Services. Throughout her career, Dr. Dart has advanced integrated behavioral health models that expand access to care, reduce stigma, and support whole-person treatment in community-based settings. Her work has focused on providing and strengthening behavioral health services within Federally Qualified Health Centers and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, with particular emphasis on ensuring access to care, empowering clients to recognize the importance of behavioral health, and supporting patients as active partners who work collaboratively with their care team to achieve meaningful, sustainable progress.

Dr. Dart’s interest in pursuing a doctorate in psychology grew from her early experience as a classroom teacher, where she saw firsthand how emotional, behavioral, family, and environmental challenges could affect a child’s ability to learn, connect, and thrive. That experience deepened her commitment to supporting children and families beyond the classroom and inspired her to pursue advanced training that would allow her to better understand and address the broader needs influencing student well-being. Her background in education continues to inform her clinical approach, reinforcing the importance of meeting individuals and families where they are and working collaboratively to build practical, compassionate paths toward growth and healing. Dr. Dart has also extended this commitment through her service on the CASA board, supporting advocacy efforts for children and families involved in the child welfare system.

Thank you, Dr. Dart, for the care and compassion you show to all those that know you, and many thanks for your dedication to Tulsa CASA and the lives of our most vulnerable children. You are a gift!
