The Tulsa Artists Guild (TAG) has been a Tulsa fixture since 1933 and its’ juried members are established, working artists. Originally organized by a group of artist friends, it provided a social gathering to exchange art ideas. As it has progressed, TAG sponsors art showings for its’ members in the Tulsa area. Today Tulsa Artists Guild accomplished members are active in community projects, cont
ributing proceeds from art sales and art supplies to charities like the Tulsa Historical Society, Sherwin Miller Museum, Tulsa Garden Center, Tulsa Arts & Humanities, Living Arts, Tulsa Community Food Bank and the Tulsa Girls Art School. Member artists create original art in various mediums including two dimensional: oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pencil, silverpoint, & charcoal drawings , photography, print making & mixed medium. Three dimensional works include wood turnings, fused glass art and original jewelry. Styles range from impressionistic, realistic, abstract and non-objective. Several members have received state, national and international acclaim with art works included in books, art video, galleries, museums, private and corporate collections. The award winning, juried artists travel to various states, offering art classes and workshops. Artist member also have given various art creation demonstrations for the public to enjoy in the Tulsa area, the most recent demonstration being held at Southwood Landscape & Nursery.
