Time to plant the summer crops! 100 tomatoes planted, 25 sweet peppers, onions, chives, sweet potato, so much more. We laid down a tarp to choke out the grass so we can plant another crop in this space. Come out and visit us one of these Saturdays! Or if you'd like to become a donor to keep this project going, check out our links in our bio.

🚨Are you concerned about the future of your community? Do you want to be part of the change? 🤔

If you’ve been looking for a way to get involved but weren't sure where to start, this is it. On March 8th, we’re gathering at the Downtown Library for the Cooperation Tulsa General Assembly where we will discuss: "How do we build people power?"

Come join us, meet local activists, network with others, and be part of the conversation! We’re stronger when we show up together. See you there! ❤️

🎉Successful Aid Distribution🎉

Today we purchased a replacement Birth Certificate for our neighbor Robbie! Robbie and I have known eachother for a few years now. In the past, Robbie has helped me work on my car and he helped me prep my garden last year as a member of Lucky Permaculture worker cooperative. He even came over to do extra work unpaid to make sure that my garden was ready for Spring. We are standing in front of a planter that Robbie helped build for me last year. So yesterday when he emailed Rita's Refuge to request Aid, I was delighted to be in a position to return the favor by distributing Aid to him. We completed the application together today when he came over to receive his Aid.

This is our community! We all need to take turns helping one another. "It takes a village..." does not just apply to raising children. "It takes a village" to keep adults stable as well. Sometimes we are the village in this situation and sometimes we are the one that needs the village.

Here is a description of the organization:

Rita's Refuge is a Sapulpa-based Direct Aid Organization dedicated to collecting contributions to be distributed as Aid for Homeless individuals and individuals at-risk of homelessness in the Sapulpa and Tulsa areas.

Our first effort is distributing Aid for replacement IDs, Driver's Licenses, and Birth Certificates. Often times missing IDs and Birth Certificates are the first barrier to gaining housing, healthcare, or financial assistance. Rita's Refuge seeks to fill this gap by using your contributions to make sure our neighbors can overcome this barrier.

You can sponsor a Standard ID/Driver's License for $30
You can sponsor a Real ID/Driver's License for $43.50
You can sponsor a Birth Certificate for $32.95

For information about applying for Aid, you or your Case Manager can send a request for aid to [email protected].

All monetary contributions go directly toward providing Aid for our neighbors, purchasing office supplies, and paying neccessary fees. Please make a contribution today!
