TVT is partnering with Pima CommunityShare for a toast to teachers! As the school year comes to an end, please join us for a casual, "come-as-you-are" opportunity to relax, connect with other teachers, and celebrate another successful school year.

The End of the School Year Teacher Appreciation Mixers will be held next week on Wednesday and Thursday. The first 100 teachers to arrive at each event will receive one free drink ticket!

Michael Guymon, Chief Advocacy Officer at The Chamber of Southern Arizona, joined over a dozen business professionals for this year's Principal for a Day program hosted by Sunnyside School District.

LAST CHANCE!

Nominations for the E.L.E.V.A.T.E. Award, formerly known as the Raytheon Leaders in Education Award, end TODAY!! The E.L.E.V.A.T.E. Award (sponsored by Raytheon | an RTX Business) continues to recognize exceptional educators who are making a lasting impact on students, schools, and their communities. E.L.E.V.A.T.E. stands for Excellence, Leadership, Engagement, Vision, Achievement, Transformation, Empowerment.

Twelve finalists for the E.L.E.V.A.T.E. Award will be selected and honored at Stand Up 4 Teachers on Thursday, November 5, 2026, TVT’s annual celebration of educators. Of the twelve finalists, four awardees will each receive a $2,500 personal award. In addition, each of their schools will receive an additional $2,500. The remaining eight finalists will each receive a $500 award in recognition of their outstanding work and dedication. All awards are sponsored by Raytheon | an RTX Business.

Colleagues, administrators, parents, and community members are encouraged to nominate an educator making a meaningful impact. All PreK–12 educators in Pima County are eligible. Get your nominations in today!!

Thanks to a generous donation from ORielly Chevrolet Tucson, TVT was able to distribute over 800 tickets to over 250 teachers and their families for a Teacher Appreciation Night University of Arizona Baseball game!

It's day 4 of Teacher Appreciation Week, and TVT & Helios Education Foundation are celebrating teachers selected from student video nominations! Today's Teacher Excellence Award is presented to Kirsten Marzio, a math teacher at Mansfeld Magnet Middle School in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD). Ms. Marzio received a Seymore Saguaro trophy, cash prize, gift card for school supplies, and a custom gift basket from Treasures 4 Teachers of Tucson!

You can support teachers like Ms. Marzio today with a $5 donation to the Light the Way Campaign, which funds free access to peer support and mentorship for Arizona' teachers. All donations are matched by Tucson Electric Power up to $50,000!

In honor of and , we are highlighting some of our AZ and FL partners who are actively working to support teachers through training, professional development, and other growth opportunities.

In Arizona:
🔹Arizona K12 Center at Northern Arizona University and WestEd's initiative helps K–5 teachers gain knowledge of structured literacy and develop instructional practice that will improve the literacy achievement of their students.
🔹Make Way for Books' The Story Project provides professional development and coaching on early literacy skills to 500 educators of young children annually.
🔹 has an extensive network of education advocates and provides innovative teacher development programs.
🔹Tucson Regional Educator Collaborative maintains an online hub for teacher PD with 3,600 resources and facilitates 12 teacher communities of practice.
🔹Tucson Values Teachers created an online teacher forum for collaboration and developed a scholarship for high school seniors who plan to major in education.

In Florida:
🔸Achieve Miami's Teacher Accelerator Program creates a clear pathway for college seniors and graduate students, who are not in the field of education, to enter the teaching profession.
🔸Pinellas Early Literacy Initiative (PELI) aims to improve early literacy outcomes among Pre-K and K-2 students in Pinellas County by building the knowledge and skills of teachers in the science of reading.
🔸Teach For America Tampa Bay and Teach For America Miami-Dade support a corps of qualified teachers who serve thousands of students.
🔸Transforming Early Literacy Initiative strengthens PreK-Kindergarten instruction, where early literacy gaps exist.
