❤️ Colby's Story: A Heartfelt Thank You to the Petfinder Foundation Petfinder Foundation ❤️

When Colby and his littermates were rescued from an abusive situation and brought to AMBPR for care, our intake volunteers knew their condition was serious. Within thirty minutes of arriving at our facility, Colby experienced a rapid and catastrophic crash. He became unresponsive and his mucous membranes began to fade to white, a clear sign of a critical medical emergency. 💔 🚨

Colby was rushed directly to Hopewell Animal Hospital, where Dr. Stephanie Mittlekamp and her expert team found he was suffering from life-threatening anemia brought on by a dangerously high parasite load. In order to survive, Colby needed immediate critical care. His life had barely begun, and without crucial treatment and therapeutic support, he would not survive.

Through the generosity and goodwill of the Petfinder Foundation, we were able to cover the costs associated with Colby's care without overtaxing the limited resources we have as a small, all-volunteer organization. Today, Colby is a healthy, happy young pup, playing and growing with his loving forever family. These are the stories that sustain us and keep us inspired to rescue the next needy pet. We are deeply grateful to the Petfinder Foundation for helping us write these stories of hope, healing, and the homes every pet deserves.

🎉 WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS!🎉

Pawsitive Chance Rescue Team is incredibly grateful to announce that we have received a Petfinder Foundation Operation Grant!🐾❤️

This grant will go directly toward some of the everyday essentials that keep our dogs healthy and ready for their next chapter - food and monthly preventatives for the dogs in our rescue program. 🐶

With this funding, all of our dogs will benefit from nutritious food and protection against common parasites while they wait for their foster or forever homes.

Having taken in four heartworm-positive dogs, we know firsthand just how important prevention is. Heartworm treatment can be a long and costly process, and it's something we work hard to help prevent in the first place. That's why we're especially grateful for this grant and the opportunity to ensure the dogs in our care receive the monthly preventatives they need. ❤️

Rescue isn't just about the big moments - the intakes, the adoptions, and the happy gotcha days. It's also about the everyday care that happens in between. Food bowls that need filling, preventatives that need to be given, and making sure every dog in our care has what they need while we work toward finding them a home.

We are so thankful to the Petfinder Foundation for helping us continue providing consistent, quality care to the dogs counting on us. Your support helps take some of the financial pressure off our small rescue and allows us to keep focusing on what matters most: the dogs.

Thank you, Petfinder Foundation, for investing in rescue organizations like ours and, ultimately, the dogs we serve! 🐾
