United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona

United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona Connect. Give. Volunteer. Find your purpose. Because of their dedication we have created stories of positive transformations in the lives of millions.

Our Mission and Approach:
United Way of Tucson responds to our community’s needs, transforms lives and brings long-lasting systemic change to our community by focusing on the underlying issues. We fight for education, financial wellness, equality and healthy communities for every person in Tucson and Southern Arizona. Our role as community convener enables us to serve more than 180,000 people eac

h year by forming strategic partnerships, mobilizing the best resources and being the catalyst for needed, positive change. Our Vision:
A community where every child receives a high-quality education from birth to career, every adult has the opportunity to thrive financially and, in the workplace, and every older person can retire and age with dignity and independence. Our History:
This year we are proud to celebrate our 100 year anniversary, a century of service at United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona has taught us many things and one of the most critical is that this work is too important to do alone – we must take a united approach. And it is the past, specifically the past century of service, that United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona celebrates today, for it was in 1922, established as the Community Chest of Tucson. After 100 years we are not only still here but we are engaging in more collaboratively driven work than ever in our community thanks to the generous volunteers, donors, board members, staff, and other stakeholders who have willingly, and ably, served through the years. Today we are proud to actively work with more than 80 non-profit agencies, surrounding cities and municipalities in three counties, dozens of local, regional, and national foundations, and hundreds of business and educational entities. Building a Thriving Community by Uniting People, Ideas, and Resources.

$100,000 invested in keeping Southern Arizona families safely and securely housed. 🏠💙

A huge thank you to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation for Community & Health Advancement for awarding United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona $100,000 to strengthen our Housing Stability Program and eviction prevention efforts across Pima County.

This investment will help expand access to case management, financial coaching, and emergency rent and utility assistance, including support for rural communities and mobile home households.

Because housing stability is about more than having a roof overhead. It’s about helping our neighbors find stability before a housing crisis becomes an eviction or displacement. We’re grateful for partners who invest in solutions that help Southern Arizona families thrive. 💙

This is what community impact looks like.

Caterpillar, Inc. employees are getting to know United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona in a creative way: through a United Way scavenger hunt!

A huge thank you to Sara Dietrich, Danielle Taran, and Annie Williamson at the downtown CAT campus, and Juan Rodriguez and Jeffrey Reed at the Green Valley Proving Grounds for jumping in and helping bring the experience to life! 🙌

This is what great corporate partnership looks like: creating opportunities for employees to connect with their community, engage with our mission, and discover the impact we can make together.

Thank you to Jorge and our Corporate Philanthropy team for supporting partnerships like this, and to everyone at Caterpillar, Inc. for continuing to show up for Southern Arizona. 💙
We’re excited for what’s ahead!

🚨 FINAL CALL: Do you have a project? We’ve got the volunteers! 💙

TODAY, August 14, is the LAST DAY to submit a project for Days of Caring 2026!

💙 105 projects completed
⏰ 5,056+ hours of service benefiting local nonprofits, schools, neighborhoods, and our community.
Now, it’s YOUR turn to put those helping hands to work.

📣 Project submissions close TODAY August 14.

Submit your project and join us for Days of Caring, October 16 & 17, when Southern Arizona comes together to show just how much we can accomplish when we care together.

A strong community is built by partners who believe in showing up, investing locally, and creating lasting impact. 💙

We’re proud to recognize QT (QuikTrip) for their continued partnership with United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona and their commitment to making a meaningful difference across our community.

Through their support, QT helps advance our mission to unite people, ideas, and resources to build a thriving community, strengthening the work that connects individuals and families throughout Southern Arizona with opportunities, resources, and support.

As Jorge Ruiz, Director of Corporate Philanthropy at United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona, shares, partnerships like this demonstrate what’s possible when businesses see themselves as part of the communities they serve.

Thank you, QT, for continuing to stand alongside United Way and for investing in a stronger Southern Arizona. Your partnership helps turn shared purpose into community impact.
Together, we’re building a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive

Do you have a project? We’ve got the volunteers. 💙

Days of Caring brings Southern Arizona together to roll up our sleeves and turn projects into meaningful community impact.

For Desiree Cook, Founder and CEO of I Am You 360, that spirit of coming together is what Days of Caring is all about.

This year, volunteers will support I Am You 360’s hygiene dispensary, helping make essential hygiene products more accessible to young people and families. Because access to basic necessities is about more than hygiene. It’s about dignity, confidence, and helping people feel seen, valued, and supported.

As Desiree shares, when our community comes together for the common good, we all win.
Now, what could volunteers help make possible for your organization?
📣 Submit your Days of Caring project by August 14.
Whether there’s a project that’s been sitting on your wish list or a new idea you’re ready to bring to life, this is your opportunity to harness the power of volunteers and make it happen.
