Today we celebrate Arbor Day! 🌳A vital role trees play in our community, and a reminder of why expanding tree canopy in Tucson matters so much!

In a desert city like ours, trees are more than landscape, they are life. They provide critical shade in extreme heat, help lower energy use, improve air quality, support local wildlife, and make our neighborhoods healthier and more livable. Strengthening tree canopy in low-canopy neighborhoods is one of the most impactful ways we can build a more resilient Tucson for everyone.

Today’s post is also a moment of gratitude. A look back at the many volunteers, partners, and community members who have shown up over the years planting, watering, learning, and caring for the trees that will shape our city’s future. ✨🤗🌳

A big thank you to for the initiative, helping expand Tucson’s tree canopy and build a greener future for our city.

And to every person who has volunteered, participated, or donated! Thank you. Your support keeps this work growing.Your time, energy, and commitment keep this mission growing season after season.

Here’s to the trees we plant, the shade we create, and the community we continue to build together. 🌳

At Tucson Clean & Beautiful, we believe Earth Day is not a single moment on the calendar, but a way of living in relationship with the world around us. Every street cleaned, every tree planted, every space restored, every water harvesting project completed, every sustainability initiative advanced, and every educational effort shared reflects the heart of our work ✨🏜️💗

The support from our fundraiser directly fuels this mission. It allows us to continue the hands-on work that keeps Tucson cleaner, greener, and more connected. It also helps us reach further by engaging volunteers, inspiring youth, and building a culture of care that extends beyond a single day.

If you are able to donate, volunteer, or simply share this message, you are helping move this work forward in a real and meaningful way. You are part of a collective effort that supports a cleaner, more connected, and more hopeful Tucson for everyone.

Let’s not limit Earth Day to a single celebration. Let’s live it, together, every day! ✨🌏🍃

What an incredible way to kick off our first tree planting of the year in the Elvira Neighbourhood this past Saturday 💚🌳

We are so thankful for all the amazing volunteers and everyone who showed up to make the day a success. Together, 24 volunteers and 30 youth tree leaders planted 73 desert-tolerant trees at 24 homes, bringing much-needed shade and life to a low tree canopy community.

This mission goes far beyond planting trees. It’s about coming together as a community, building relationships, and working toward a shared goal: increasing tree canopy in neighborhoods that need it most and creating healthier, more equitable places to live. When we plant in low-canopy communities, we are investing in people, comfort, and long-term environmental health.

Trees strengthen our ecosystem by cooling our neighborhoods, improving air quality, supporting birds and wildlife, conserving energy, and making our communities more resilient to extreme heat. Each tree planted helps restore balance and brings lasting benefits for families and future generations.

We are deeply grateful for every volunteer, youth tree leader, and resident who made this day possible. This is community in action, and we can’t wait to keep growing together 🌱 Join us and volunteer! Sign up today at www.tucsoncleanandbeautiful.org {Link in bio}
