🌟 Big Brothers Big Sisters of SoAZ x TYP Match Spotlight 🌟
Meet Dan Goers, a Board member of Tucson Young Professionals and a proud Big with 💚
When asked why he became a Big, he shared:
💬 “I became a Big because I was looking for a way to impact my community and because I believe every kid deserves someone in their corner. Someone they can talk to, spend time with, and trust. I’m not there to tell Miguel who he should be. I’m there to support him as he grows into the person he wants to become.”
One of his favorite parts of being matched with his Little Miguel is:
💬 “It honestly doesn’t feel like volunteering. It feels like spending time with a friend. Miguel is funny, kind, family-oriented, and thoughtful. Watching him grow in confidence and become more comfortable with who he is has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a Big. And we laugh ALOT!”
Dan said that investing in the next generation important to Tucson’s future because:
💬 “Everyone needs support. Everyone needs friendships. Everyone needs people in their corner. If we want a stronger Tucson, we need more kindness, empathy, and people willing to help one another. Mentorship is one of the best ways to build that future.”
Through mentorship, community involvement, and showing up consistently, Bigs like Dan are helping build a brighter future for Tucson’s youth 💚
