Good Scout Awards Luncheon- Catalina Council, BSA is honored to recognize DAN MARRIES as our 2026 Good Scout Award recipient.

"Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life."

For Dan Marries, that sentiment has become a reality.

Dan has been keeping Tucson informed for decades and is currently the news anchor of KOLD 13 News, where he has served since 1999. His trusted voice and steady presence have made him familiar and a respected figure throughout Southern Arizona.

But Dan's impact reaches far beyond the newsroom.

He is a devoted father to his three boys and is deeply committed to serving his community. Dan is the Charter President of the Casas Adobes Optimist Club, which for many years has adopted more that 30 families annually to ensure that they have food on the table and can experience the holiday season with dignity and support. His dedication to children, families, and service reflects the very spirit of Scouting - making a difference not simply through what we do professionally, but through how we show up for others.

We are proud to honor DAN MARRIES with the Good Scout Award and celebrate the example he sets for his family, his community and the many Tucsonan who know him both as a trusted voice and a committed community leader.

Dan Marries - KOLD News 13 You are a GOOD SCOUT!

NYLT at Camp Lawton Scout Camp was a summer standout.
In July, our youth leaders took on team challenges, learned new leadership tools , and pushed themselves in the mountain environment that makes Lawton such a powerful training ground.
