Take a break and dive deeper into the Bible. We conclude our study of Psalm 121 verses 1 and 2 and examine the Bible statement on territorial spirits and how Jesus Christ destroyed and conquered such a dark, spiritual hegemony.

Friends, this Memorial Day Sunday, I want to do two things: honor those who served, and pray an ancient prayer together.
We remember today those who gave their lives in defense of others — and those who came home bearing wounds the eye cannot see. As a pastor and chaplain, I have known both kinds of heroes. Their sacrifice is real. Their suffering is known to God. Let us not forget them.
Then we turn to Psalm 80 — one of the great prayers of Scripture. Three times, the psalmist Asaph rings the same bell in a darkened sanctuary:
"Restore us, O Lord God of hosts; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved."
He prayed it in grief. He prayed it in memory. He prayed it in hope. And I believe God included that refrain in Holy Scripture because He intends to hear it.
This week's Sunday Chapel devotional walks through Psalm 80 — with SoulWork reflection questions for your personal journal or small group. The full audio sermon is there as well.
I hope it blesses your Lord's Day. 🙏

Please consider joining us for our Bible study on Psalm 121 as we asked the question “why look up at the hills? How does my strength come from there? What does that mean?” The answer brings a faith for living.

Learn more about the fruit of research findings and a plan to reverse pastoral dropout in North America. At a time when we need solid, Christian shepherds now more than ever, we are losing three pastors every day. This initiative by the D. James Kennedy Institute of Reformed Leadership is designed to bring spiritual and organizational health based on scripture and the best practices in church history. Something must be done. This is our response.

Here are personal virtues and universal values for all of us from the greatest man I ever knew of my life. I hope that you will read the reflection, consider the biblical truths, and perhaps share with another. This essay took longer than I would have liked. I’m not as quick on the draw, I’m afraid. But I pray it will be of some encouragement to someone.
