Join us on June 5th at 6 PM as we honor Richard D. Mitchell during the Carolinas Show Hunter Hall of Fame induction evening at the Tryon Riding & Hunt Club.

Dr. Mitchell has dedicated his life to the advancement of equine medicine and the care of performance horses at the highest levels of the sport. From serving as an attending veterinarian for the United States Equestrian Team at six Olympic Games to pioneering research in equine health, his impact on the horse industry is extraordinary.

A respected horseman, competitor, educator, and veterinarian, Dr. Mitchell’s lifelong commitment to equestrian sport and horse welfare has influenced generations within our industry. We are proud to celebrate his remarkable career and contributions to the sport.

A horse whose legacy helped shape the sport we know today.

On June 5th at 6 PM, the Tryon Riding & Hunt Club will honor the legendary Bold Minstrel as he is inducted into the Carolinas Show Hunter Hall of Fame.

Known affectionately as “Fatty,” Bold Minstrel was one of the most versatile and accomplished horses of his era — excelling in hunters, jumpers, foxhunting, and eventing, while representing the U.S. on the international stage. His impact on the sport and the generations of riders who followed is still felt today.

We invite you to join us for an evening celebrating his incredible story and lasting legacy.
