Piedmont Paso Fino Horse Association is the third largest and considered one of the most successful regions of the Paso Fino Horse Association.

The Piedmont PFHA Breeder’s Futurity proudly showcases the offspring of over 60 stallions, awarding to some of the most valuable breeding stock in our breed over $160,000 since its inception in 1992. Each year, the Piedmont Classic in Asheville, NC, continues to reign as one of the largest regional USEF/PFHA shows held in the USA, and justly called the mini-Nationals due to the high level of competition in all divisions. At this prestigious show, over $82,000 in prizes was awarded in 2004, including $30,000 awarded to Piedmont Breeder’s Futurity nominated horses and their sires.

There’s a reason we talk about the “Paso Smile.” 😊

This weekend at the Legacy at Tryon Show, we introduced a complete Paso Fino newbie to the breed—and the results were exactly what we hoped for. Our guest rider, who happens to be competing this weekend in the Hunter/Jumper competition, climbed aboard a Paso Fino for the very first time. Within minutes, the smile said it all!

The smooth gait, willing spirit, and unique connection that Paso Finos offer create an experience unlike any other. Watching a seasoned equestrian discover the joy of riding a Paso for the first time was a wonderful reminder of why we love sharing this breed with others.

A special thank you to Rick Meyers for sharing the fascinating history of the Paso Fino, and to Milda and Christina Minter for providing such a welcoming and informative riding lesson. Your passion for the breed made this experience even more memorable.

If you’ve ever been curious about Paso Finos, we invite you to join us at the The Legacy at Tryon or learn more about these incredible horses at PiedmontPasoFino.com.

Who knows? Your first ride might leave you wearing the famous Paso Smile, too! ❤️🐴
