Just want to bring you up to date on our DRUMSTRONG ‘Rhythm Aid Projects’ progress and hopefully get your participation.
Since last update, we’ve added 3 more pediatric hospitals/clinics (up to 5 now), 2 orphanages (+ 2 organizations supporting children who’ve lost a parent to war), 3 rehab centers, and the foremost radiation cancer research center hospital; over 3000 children plus hundreds of staff and families have participated in our rhythm sessions since the onset.
We’ve hired psychiatrists and music therapists and sent some of our facilitators to specialized training for varied populations.
The community Drum Circles in Krakow, Poland invite refugees and neighbors to play together.
We will soon work with 'Save Ukraine' and 'The Humanity Fund' to promote additional support for our rhythm driven initiatives to continue to broaden our reach. Among other focuses, they provide support for music and formal education globally, safe haven and counseling for children who’ve lost parents to war, and repurposing damaged and/or older areas in hospitals and schools for needed useful spaces.
Working in tandem with them has opened doors to additional hospitals.
And with the expanded outreach, our expenses to pay our Ukrainian facilitators and equipment needs increase.
How do you feel about helping us? And perhaps you may know some interested parties to "join the party”?
The staff and families and Especially the kids are so appreciative. We get reports that they look forward to and talk about the sessions and when they drum, long absent smiles return, at least for the moment…
These young patients will need support for most of their lives.
