As a Christ-centered congregation, we strive to:

Be shaped by the historical Wesleyan emphasis of a vital personal faith, social justice, ecumenism and a global concern. Provide opportunities for passionate worship, intentional faith development, risk-taking mission and service, and extravagant generosity. Offer radical hospitality to all people in a friendly downtown church. Respect diverse perspectives, while uniting in Christian essentials and resolving to love. Standing upon these core values, we step into the future with the hope of becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

The first Sunday of November is a holiday on the church calendar: All Saints Day. This week we celebrate those who have gone before us and now rest from their labors. We lift their names and light our candles. We remember they, too, are part of God's "Bigger Table" -- welcomed and beloved. Come to experience the stillness, to light your candles, and to remember with gratitude.

We greeted 100+ trick-or-treaters on Halloween on Cass yesterday. Thank you to all who made this possible. We loved seeing everyone's costumes who stopped by Central. A special shoutout to all those who donated candy, help setup and decorate, as well as all who handed out candy to our guests and helped with the event.

We hope that you had a safe and wonderful Halloween! 🎃❤️🍫🍭🕷️🕸️🦇👻

The Blessing Bags have all been distributed to 7 food pantries. We gave out over 330 bags of groceries, 100 turkeys, and 252 cans of chicken. We had a great volunteer team and everyone was still smiling when the last 2 vans pulled away. Thank you for your support in making our Blessing Bag tradition happen again this year ❤️

We are grateful for today’s Blessing Bag pick-up by KAIR (Kalkaska Area Interfaith Resources).

The rest will be picked up tomorrow early afternoon and distributed to local food pantry partners.

We appreciate all those who have either brought in a Blessing Bag or who have made this annual tradition of giving to our neighbors a reality.

Mark Johnston is guest preaching. Mark and his partner, Jeremy, love Central Church and are excited to join us this Sunday after their recent relocation. And we could not be more grateful for their time among us.

Previously (20 years ago) Mark was an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, but had to surrender his ordination when he came out as gay. Much pain (both self inflicted and church related) followed.

Mark will share his story with us - evolving from secrecy to openness….from rejection to redemption.

Livestream available at both 9 am and 11 am services.
