Your garden called… it wants horse manure! And we have lots to give!

Stop by Peace Ranch on Saturday, June 27, from 10 AM–3 PM and load up your pickup truck or trailer with nutrient-rich horse manure for your garden. Donations are accepted on a pay-what-you-can basis per pickup-bed load.

Horse manure is a natural way to enrich your soil, helping your flowers, vegetables, and gardens thrive. Even better, every donation helps support Peace Ranch’s therapy programs for individuals and families healing from trauma.

Turn manure into blooms, vegetables, healthier soil—and hope. 💚

With the start of a new year, we felt it was the perfect time to highlight, introduce, and reintroduce the incredible founders, staff, and board members who make our mission possible.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be spotlighting each of them so you can get to know the faces and hearts behind the scenes.

This week we would like to introduce our Vice President, John. John, is a retired educator, academic leader, and attorney who dedicated 18 years of service before retiring. Drawing on his legal background, John mentored countless students pursuing careers in law and criminal justice. Beyond the classroom, he was actively involved in student life as a fraternity advisor and member of the Faculty Athletic Advisory Committee. His commitment to student success and mentorship left a lasting impact on the university community, leading to the creation of the John Milliken Advisor Award, which recognizes outstanding faculty advisors. John has been a pivotal member to the Peace Ranch Board.

We asked everyone two questions, here’s what they had to say.

John, what is a fun fact about you?
I was once a United States certified swimming and diving official.

What is one specific aspect of our organization's mission that really inspires you?
I think the unique role that horses play in helping clients gain insight into themselves is fascinating and may help reach individuals who might be resistant to conventional therapies.

Some of our wonderful volunteers and board members had a lovely time at Culver’s on US 31 on Wednesday evening! They greeted customers, delivered curbside and dining room orders, shared information about Peace Ranch, and helped spread awareness about the healing work happening here every day.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to support us by enjoying a meal, making a donation, or simply stopping by to say hello. Community partnerships like this help make our programs possible and allow us to continue providing hope, healing, and connection to children, veterans, and families in our community.

A special thank you to our dedicated volunteers and board members who generously gave their time and energy to make the evening such a success. Your passion for our mission shines through in everything you do, and we are so fortunate to have you as part of the Peace Ranch family.
