Please help us thank the Traverse City Central High School - TCAPS boys varsity basketball team for supporting our Cancer Patient Needs Fund! 🏀

Together with the wonderful TC Trojan community, the team raised $2,000 through their Purple Game on February 13th. 💜100% of the dollars raised will support patients and families in need of assistance during their cancer treatment journey.

Players stopped by the Cowell Family Cancer Center last week to present their donation to Munson Healthcare staff. Pictured below is Kathy Laraia, Interim President of Munson Medical Center and Vice President of Oncology and Professional Services, accepting the check from the team.

Thank you, again, to Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) and the TC Central Booster programs for continuing to support healthcare needs in our community! We are so grateful!

🚨 We need YOUR help to make a birthday wish come true! 🎉

Nate Doerr, an 11-year-old hockey player with the Grand Traverse Hockey Association, is dedicating his birthday to supporting Munson Healthcare's Cancer Patient Needs Fund. Instead of buying presents, Nate has asked his loved ones to donate to Cancer Patient Needs. 🎁

When Nate's mom, Jess, asked why he wanted to do this, Nate shared the following:

"My Mom went through cancer, and cancer is a terrible thing to go through. I would be grateful to raise money for the Cancer Patient Needs Fund so that people can get better and know that others are there for them and care. I also want to thank the Cowell Family Cancer Center for saving my Mom.”

We’re so proud of Beth Joseph, Charitable Giving Officer for Munson Healthcare Foundations, for her commitment to changing lives - in more ways than one! ❤️

Blood donations save lives every day, and for Munson employee Beth Joseph, giving back is more than a choice—it's a family tradition.

“My maternal grandfather gave blood as often as he could ... I inherited my ‘good veins’ from him and an O blood type from my paternal grandfather, who was also proud to give blood but rarely could because of his diabetes and vascular issues.”

While Beth began donating blood sporadically as a teenager, it wasn’t until a pivotal moment that she committed to donating regularly. Read Beth’s ‘why,’ learn more about the critical blood shortage, and sign up to donate: https://www.munsonhealthcare.org/blog/giving-back-her-blood.

Ready to roll up your sleeves now and donate? Visit https://www.versiti.org/ways-to-give/where-to-donate to sign up at Versiti Blood Center of Michigan, with locations across Northern Michigan.

Please help us give a round of applause to Dr. Crystal Pulice, an emergency medicine physician, and her 10-year-old daughter, Madelyn, for their support of the Child Life Program at Munson Medical Center!

Madelyn and Crystal made and sold over 200 hot cocoa bomb kits at a local craft show to raise money. ☕️ The two have long been supporters of the Child Life Program, which strives to make hospital visits less scary for pediatric patients.

Crystal and Madelyn visited the Munson Healthcare Foundations office last week to present their donation and celebrate their generosity with our team. 🎁 Thank you, Crystal and Madelyn, for making the holiday season brighter for our youngest patients!
