What an incredible celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Claire’s Day Maumee. 25 years of promoting literacy, inspiring young minds and reminding children that books can open doors to worlds they never imagined. This year truly felt like one of the best ever.

To every volunteer, participant, family, supporter, and especially our sponsors, thank you. Your generosity and commitment continue to make a lasting impact on children and literacy in our community. Because of your support, stories are shared, imaginations are sparked and futures are strengthened.

We are grateful for every sponsor who invested in this vision and helped make this milestone celebration unforgettable.

Here’s to honoring the legacy of Claire’s Day and continuing to build a love for reading for generations to come.

Today we welcome four of our visiting Claire’s Day Maumee authors and illustrators to our community: Tim Bowers, Leigh Lewis, Denise Brennan-Nelson, and Shannon Anderson.

They’ll be sharing their creativity, inspiration, stories and artistic gifts with with students at Fort Miami Elementary, Ottawa Hills Elementary, OLPH School, and Swanton Elementary.

These visits are about so much more than books. They spark imagination, encourage young readers and writers, and remind students their own stories, ideas, and opinions matter!

And that’s a wrap on Claire’s Day Toledo 2026 and what an unforgettable week it was!

We hosted 21 incredible author illustrator visits throughout Toledo, celebrated 750 CARE Award recipients, and witnessed the magic that happens when children feel seen, encouraged, and celebrated for their growth as readers! 💜📚

From packed award ceremonies, meaningful author illustrator meet and greets, and award winners arriving dressed to the nines, every moment reminded us why this work matters so deeply!

Well also had the incredible honor of receiving a proclamation from Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz recognizing 25 years of Claire’s Day and its impact on children and families throughout our region.

To every student, family, educator, volunteer, author, illustrator, sponsor and supporter … THANK YOU for helping make Claire’s Day Toledo 2026 such a meaningful celebration! We’re leaving this work feeling inspired, grateful and ready to do it all over again next week at Claire’s Day Maumee! 💜📚
